12·2 months agoMy real issue is as a dev of a web application, using Firefox makes things occasionally render differently. It’s only once in a blue moon but enough to make me just accept using Vivaldi to be closer to the defacto user experience. And then I can’t be bothered to switch between FF (I use Zen) and Vivaldi and split my bookmarks, extensions, logins etc. it just doesn’t make sense.

6·2 months agoThe amount of people I see use spotify and youtube with ads and just don’t feel or see anything wrong with this really disturbs me. People don’t realise the psychic damage they inflict upon themselves, they don’t see the issue.

The seed money came from Twitter, allocated by Jack Dorsey and he had a position on the board that he didn’t really make use of. He literally left because he is against centralised moderation and didn’t have enough influence to prevent bsky implementing it.

9·2 years agoHonestly, everyone needs to listen to the episode of Search Engine about Elon. It’s such a clear narrative of what happened between the Iron Man cameo and now. It’s pure hubris - someone who is very unlikable desperately hungry for love to the point where his brain bust a fuse.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI-Generated Code is Causing Outages and Security Issues in BusinessesEnglish
737·2 years agoAs stated in the article, this has less to do with using AI, more to do with sloppy code reviews and code quality enforcement. Bad code from AI is just the latest version of mindlessly pasting from Stack Overflow.
I encourage jrs to use tools such as Phind for solving problems but I also expect them to understand what they’re submitting and be ready to defend it no differently to any other PR. If they’re submitting code they don’t understand that’s incredibly unprofessional and I would come down very hard on them. They don’t do this though because we don’t hire dickheads.
