Clearly you don’t understand the first-past-the-post system the US presidential election utilises.

The chance isn’t just slim. It’s astronomical.
The chance of Cornell West winning is probably smaller than a bit-flip happening, switching your vote to another candidate. That’s how little chance your vote would have to make the country a better place.
On the other hand, every vote not casted for the only viable non-Trump candidate helps Trump.
I’m European and would love for you to have the option to vote for proper social democrats or greens (especially greens!). But please, every US citizen needs to do their part to not get fascists get hold of your country.
It’s sad to say, but if you don’t vote for the democratic candidate, you might not have a chance to vote 3rd party in 4 years. (I don’t like fear mongering, but it’s a real enough possibility)
I’m hoping they’ll rule against him as well, but these reasons seem way out there.
That’s assuming they believe he’ll go full fascist and execute them. They don’t. Even if they would believe that, ruling in his favour would prove their worth to him.
I see no way that democrats could dissolve the SC. They probably wouldn’t even if they could.
Probably saying that neither conflict would have happened if he was re-elected/“the dems didn’t steal the election”.
They basically did this with Salazar, the Portugese dictator.
He was officially replaced while in a coma. He came out of it and lived for almost 2 years more. No one ever told him he was no longer in power.
I chose to believe it’s a but using Musk’s LLM.
Which does make for a fun game:
Grok bot or Crack pot?
While I would agree under normal circumstances, that would just be abused in the current political atmosphere.
Republicans are now already trying to impeach Biden for some made up reason while knowing it will never stick in the senate. Can you imagine how much more effort they’d spent in it if it would prevent Biden from running for reelection.
Everything Trump has done should be enough to make him unelectable in the eyes of the voters, even if it doesn’t legally prevent him from running.
Most played artist on Spotify and Time’s person of the year 2023 vs… who? Someone whose name I recognise in the context of being a right-wing nut. Whether they’re a politician, musician, actor, podcast host,… I wouldn’t be able to say.
This is essentially a pro freedom of speech legislation.
It’s not though. It doesn’t just protect employers to call anyone whatever pronoun they want, it mandates that the preferred pronoun for trans people (and others) are not used.
It doesn’t just protect bigotry, it requires it.
I’m as pragmatic as they get and always trying to understand why people vote the way they do. But if you’re a “moderate republican” and think Trump is still better than Biden/Pelosi, you’re out of touch with reality, brainwashed, or not as moderate as you think.
So basically Anno 2307?
I haven’t played Anno 2205, but what your describing seems a bit further in time than that game. The start of colonization of the Moon vs settling/trading with the full solar system.
Exactly. In Europe for example, you see the stylized “e” symbol on packaging very often. It means that a negligible amount are below the advertised volume/weight.
So if the package says 600ml, they might have to set the machine to 610ml to ensure they satisfy this condition.
No, it proves me right. People are still willing to pay for the service despite the price hike. So it must mean that people think this non-essential service, for which there are alternatives, is worth the money.
Unfortunately, this is users allowing for this kind of behaviour.
The original comment was that voting with your wallet doesn’t work. I’m saying that it’s a problem with enough people voting with their wallet. If you are the only person that cares about something and stop buying from a particular company, they will not even notice it.
On the other hand, look what happened when bud light had this thing with a trans influencer and conservatives got ridiculously upset with this, as they do. ABInbev is still feeling the effects of that.
1% might have 50% of the wealth, they do not account for 50% of the spending. Especially not at Taco Bell.
Pure capitalism is broken af, but companies like this will feel it if 10% of costumers stops going there. The increase in price can recover some of it, but only to a certain extent. It’s a simple supply and demand issue.
That being said, I’m not from the US, so take my opinion on local issues with a grain of salth. And I definitely don’t mean to imply that wealth inequality is not an issue. On the contrary.
Do you think farmers should not use any tractors and pick their crops using manual labour?
That would also create a lot of jobs.
Still, that’s a few steps further than just “exposing animal cruelty”.
Not saying what they did was wrong at all, but the headline is definitely clickbait.
(Note: I haven’t read past the headline or some of the comments, so I might be way off)
Do you think they will add “Dark Brandon” write-ins to Biden’s tally?
Gotta remember where you came from.
He will be elected president through cheating, gerrymandering, and anything they can try
I’m not from the US, but doesn’t gerrymandering have no impact whatsoever on the presidential election? Only on the House, maybe on the Senate.
Gerrymandering is a big problem, but conflating it with other issues just detracts from your points.
Not exactly related to the question, but as a non-native English speaker, whenever I read something related to weights in imperial, e.g., 150 lbs, my mind reads it as 150 lubes.
I know it’s pounds, if I would read it out loud, I would say pounds cause I’m not a weirdo (well…). But still, my internal monologue has lbs = lubes
