Not sure how it is where you live but the Samsung Fold 8 Ultra where I live are 300 SGD cheaper for the base model compared to the Duo. And that’s from Samsung directly, if I get it from a reseller, I can get it for almost 1000 SGD cheaper.
This is just on Apple. Samsung has been selling Folds for 8 years now and the current iterations hardly have these issues. Is it more fragile than a regular screen? For sure. But is it fragile that it breaks from regular use? No. I’ve been using foldables for 6 years and none of them broke like this.
A tablet can’t fit into your pocket. I’ve been using folds for the past 6 years and I’ve been very happy and can’t go back. Never had one break its screen either. 2000 USD being an insane price for one on the other hand, I can agree with.
The right thing is never the easiest option unfortunately.
I think secularism is the closest you can get to something like that. People have a right to believe what they want even if that can be harmful. The most we can do is to make sure that those harmful beliefs don’t affect others.

Worth noting that while something like 95% taken from Chinese it was taken from traditional Chinese and then underwent it’s own simplification process independently from Chinese. This leads to a lot of subtle and sometimes huge differences between some related kanji and hanzi.
Fair, I’m not a fan of those either but that unfortunately seems to be the case with almost all EVs unfortunately so it’s not like that really matters in this case.

I think the Hyundai Ioniq, the Toyota bZ4X (what an awful name) and the Mazda 6e all look pretty cool. They more or less just look like any other regular ICE car. For some reason the western and Chinese manufacturers keep trying to do something funky and hideous.
I’m not really familiar with how Droid Deck works but I imagine that having to emulate Linux for the Steam launcher and all of that on top of the game does incur an additional cost that Game Native and Winlator doesn’t have. If someone with better knowledge of how it works could chime in that’d be great.
The lack of AI was actually a huge selling point for me with the Neo (even though the price was already a huge sell). It’s a shame that they’re now falling for the same trick as the rest of the industry.
Japanese has kana though. So a single character might not be a word. So it’s quite different from Mandarin in that respect. That said Mandarin does have pinyin with both romanized and bopomofo versions that act as a reading guide so I don’t think the idea that a single character may not mean a word is that strange of a thing.

Unfortunately in my country this doesn’t happen. There’s a bell curve and as long as you submit your homework and do the bare minimum for the exams, you get your degree. You’re gonna have a pretty mid GPA, but you’ll have a degree which effectively makes the degree useless as an indicator of competency. The amount of people I’ve interviewed who couldn’t answer a simple programming question is astounding.
Most of these people end up picking up jobs as project managers because that’s all they can do. And the country’s leaders wonder why we don’t have much software R&D here.
China’s using CST/UTC+8 and while there are variations from the west to the east for the time of day, that’s only a variation of 5 hours in the worst case. I’m flubbing the stats here a little but essentially your average is going to be within 2 hours of daylight differences which is your variance across seasons anyways.
What was being proposed was something throughout the world where someone’s morning could be another’s night. That’s a huge difference and not at all comparable.
Am I the only one in this thread that feels like a vehicle here shouldn’t even have any form of internet connection regardless what nation it is from? The fact that this is from China doesn’t matter. Why does a vehicle even need network equipment (other than a FM radio at most)?
Gotten used may not necessarily mean they like it though. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a plus point for them. Heck, for me, I find the Z Fold’s power button fingerprint sensor a plus point compared to the in-screen sensors on the regular phones.
