i would add our electoral process has been poisoned by the parties in control. i saw it start to fail when the league of women voters bailed, and the entire process was from then on entirely controlled only by those who would benefit from it.

politicians should have no choice with regards to debate events or the configuration of those events. they absolutely should not have prior knowledge of questions to be asked, and should be fact-checked live.

those with the lowest incomes qualify for government assistance in the form of medicare/medicaid but this is fairly minimal and specifically excludes most novel treatments. our republicans/conservatives continually find ways to reduce this funding. they are truly awful human beings despite being the ‘pro life’, ‘pro god’ block of our electorate.

many people with cancer in the u.s. go the cheapest routes for treatment because some are incredibly expensive. hospitals are only required to ‘stabilize’. they are not mandated to cure. poorer people have worse outcomes as they cant afford the best treatments.

i was curious about this also. seems like in the book they did have muskets, but they were rarely used as most of the book involved ‘close’ fighting in which swords were used while muskets were battlefield, long-range devices.
