100%. Trump is going to do everything in his power to make life in NYC hell, and with help from the right wing media he’ll pin it on Mamdani. As you can see from today’s New York Post cover, they’re already laying the foundation.

That’s my fear. The district Dems will decide that they want a more reliable Democrat in the primary, and their candidate will get crushed in the general election in this conservative district.
The only reason he’s in office right now is because he convinced Trump voters to also vote for him. To win in Maine’s 2nd, a candidate will need to do that. I’m incredibly skeptical that his primary challenger is going to have much success with that.
Committee control is the big reason. Even if he’s not the most reliable vote, the Dems get to control the House agenda if they have the majority. And it’s not like he’s 100% Republican with his voting record, either.
In fairness to Golden, he’s one of very few Dem reps to win in a Trump district, and Maine’s 2nd is very much a Trump district. He can only win by attracting some Trump voters. He does this by aligning with them on gun control (or lack thereof) and some social issues.
As to Golden being a DINO, he still counts toward a Dem majority in the House, and that’s super important.
If Golden loses the primary, the Dem candidate is going to have a very hard time winning the general. And then we’re looking at mini-Trump, former Maine governor and Florida resident Paul LePage, getting elected.
Yeah, people have been saying this kind of thing for almost 10 years now. It’s wishful thinking.

They’re not morons. Trump, Musk, super PACs, and the GOP are spending collosal amounts of money to mislead them. It’s not their fault that it’s working.
My expectation is that he’s going to try using the threat of the US leaving NATO as leverage to get Denmark to simply hand Greenland over. He’ll declare himself winner whichever way it goes.
Forgive my pessimism, but while this is the sort of thing that could sink a “normal” campaign, the cult of personality around Trump has been weathering stuff like this since 2016 or even earlier. I’ll believe that this is impacting voter sentiment when I see it reflected in the results after election day. Until then, it just feels like more wishful thinking.
As noted elsewhere in the thread, they do support MTP transport, so it’s definitely not as user-hostile as it first sounded. Things like Calibre will still work. However, the fact that Amazon also removed the ability to download ebooks in the browser for offline transfer suggests where things are heading. IIRC kobos have some anti features of their own, but I don’t recall the details. I wonder if something like the Daylight DC-1 could be even better. It’s not just a nice reader, but a proper computer. At least, if it actually exists.
I’ve owned two Kindle devices over the years, and the ability to directly load content, without involving a third-party service, was a big part of what made them usable for me. If that feature is gone, these devices will no longer be viable for my needs.

But the term is his, and it’s what he’s using to rationalize his plans. He’s not declaring that he/Trump are declaring a post-constitutional doctrine, but that we’re already living in one and thus he’s justified in his radical reinterpretations of it.
VMs provide a meaningful security boundary between applications. Containers (docker, etc) do not.
That’s what we said about Roe as well. They will always find some new way to manufacture outrage even after they get their way.
People are saying we’re better off without him, but this is a very conservative district (voted for Trump 3 times) and analysts are suggesting that his withdrawal means the district is likely flipping GOP next year. It’s entirely possible that his withdrawal is what keeps the GOP in the house majority.
