Oh the rossman video.
I hate how obsessed on dumb shit he gets. The man is legitimately doing great work usually, and then he takes something minor that an otherwise ally says or does and blows it out of proportion.
This man would have made a great tankie. Unfortunately he made a whole 20 minute video on why AOC is stupid for saying unskilled labor doesn’t exist and then explaining exactly the points she was making.
I legitimately love this mans work and I wanna support him, but man is he petty.
Yeah that’s covered in the book and podcast.
Not in crazy detail but it is there already within academia.
The idea is that whatever hyper dense state of energy caused our big bang has caused others.
I’m just a tech guy so I can’t explain it with justice, but I heavily recommend at least scrubbing that podcast for when they talk about almost exactly what you described!
Damn it! Another book for the list!
I have a book on my to read list that delves into all the ideas about the “big bang” and how a lot of scientists are convinced that there were are and will be more “big bangs”
It’s called “Battle of the Big Bangs”
I learned it from Alex O’Connor’s “Within Reason” podcast episode 115

I always tell the interviewer what they want to hear. Its very obviously a game of correct answers.
I lie on my resume too, but not in ways I can’t back up.
For instance, I imply I have a degree because I did go to college for 4 consecutive years for a multitude of degrees. So I have different resumes with different majors depending on what job I’m applying to. I mostly use my CS/Engineering degree now-a-days. I’m able to talk the talk enough that they’ve never checked or asked for a transcript.
But it sounds more like your job wanted to, on paper, be compliant with workers rights stuff
“We offer a break at X and Y hours.”
But had a cultural expectation to not follow it. Which is dumb and they can, in my humble opinion, get fucked. Nursing has a massive burnout rate and shit like that is why.
I think you should recognize you dodged a bullet more than you should think about “lying” in an interview.
You didn’t ghost her first of all. Inadvertently or otherwise.
This is a pretty easy way to gauge someone’s interest by just seeing if they ever message you first.
Really you should just take this as a sign to move on and work on relationships that are two sided. Ones where the other person texts first.
Sorry its happened to you, but its always better now then after you’ve invested a serious amount of time and emotional energy into a relationship.
Ya wanna host it on my forgejo instance?
I’m about to move it to a kubenetes cluster once my parts come in.
I always am shocked at how detailed the reports are, but I imagine they have to legally record and report on absolutely everything they found even if its irrelevant.
A grad course in AI/LLM/ML might actually be useful. Its where my old roommates learned about Googles Transformers and got into LLMs before the hype bubble in 2018.
Home might get ahead of the curve for the next over inflated hype bubble and then proceed to make unearned garbage loads of money and have learned something other than how to put ChatGPT in a new wrapper.
I doubt that.
I got my Vasectomy at 26. I wanted it sooner, but insurance sucks.
I believe firmly that regret is something you make yourself feel or are made to feel. So your family members don’t regret having kids because they haven’t been made to regret that decision.
I haven’t told my family about my snip because I think they would have tried to make me regret it.
That makes sense to me because they want that constant reassurance that their decision was correct. So someone NOT making that decision means it may not have been correct.
If you wanna talk about it more, I’d happily chat with you and be the support you’re not getting.
I like a very small amount of RGB.
I didn’t always, I wanted full no color, but the ONLY GPU I could find had just a smidge of RGB in the logo (MSI something 5060 ti) and I like it as a highlight.
Bro how much did Desantis pay to get this angle on the header?
That’s a shower thought of all time.
That’s crazy.
Anyways I’m gonna pitch never buying a Samsung phone again to the HR people if this comes true.
I am personally a huge fan of taking advantage of wealthy people.
You don’t really have iPhone 16 pro Max and Air pods money to throw away like this without having a one sided relationship with labor, in my opinion.
But that’s my cynical leftist view.
I imagine the biggest reason to not keep it is fear of your son getting spoiled or demanding gifts from you that are this same caliber.
However, he is 16. Certainly not the most rational age for many people, but he can understand the difference in financial statuses between you and his friend.
I think it would be distressing for you to take away this expensive thing on the grounds of “we’re too poor to have nice things” especially since it was a gift from his best friend. But having that discussion of “hey don’t let that get to your head. I still love you I just could not afford such an expensive gift. Here’s a vague breakdown of our expenses”
My dad had a similar discussion with me when I was getting ready to go to college the first time and he flat out told me how much he and mom made and broke down where the money goes. It really helped me understand our economic position instead of just assuming my parents made a good amount of money (they didn’t)
I think Terry A Davis would have found god in chat GPT and could have figured out the API calls on TempleOS
A few months ago now, Arizona? Arkansas maybe? Some state legalized “AI powered” home schooling systems. But it was mostly clickbait and the system is less like ChatGPT and more like the YouTube Algorithm machine learning. It takes into account the stuff that students do well at and let’s them advance beyond “grade level” limitations while also learning how to present problem areas in ways the student responds to.
I had asked my home schooled AI researcher buddy his thoughts and he obviously liked it. I like the idea too, but my hang up was on socializing kids. That to me is the more important role of schools.
I wouldn’t trust an LLM in this set up though. A human tutor would still need to step in for questions outside of a FAQ IMO. I love working with an LLM by giving it all the manuals, guides, and config files I used then asking where I went wrong because it can usually give me a good enough interpretation to see where to go next. But that’s just a rubber duck. My mind and skills are developed. A kid learning math for Tue first time can’t do that.
