It’s the little things that make me not want to eject out of my chair when dealing with work shit. I feel like a golden bi wizard when I’m at my desk
It’s due to a large chunk of the people

Your regional library or local makerspace may have 3d printers you can print with.
Do you have any resources or documentation of your build? It sounds like a cool project.
littlewonder@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Some Democratic senators regret voting to confirm Kristi Noem as DHS secretary2·4 个月前Not directing this to you, specifically, but if you’re in the US and you feel similarly, please please please use this anger at this “slow” part of the political cycle to get involved in your local political scene.
This can look like uplifting people who align with your values in political organizations, volunteering in a specific candidate’s campaign to get them on the primary ballot, or even running for a local office yourself (yes you, even if you don’t think you’re qualified).
The people doing this “unsexy” work between elections are the people who eke out actual change. They always need more support during this time, and by becoming involved, you can see the impacts of your efforts, and get the right kind of people on primary ballots.
When these people win local and state offices, they build momentum (read: fundraising) and gain political experience they can leverage to run for even higher offices.
It’s still a lot of work, and it’s slow, but it’s the realistic, proven path to affecting politics when you’re not a nepobaby, a constitutional law professor, or a D-list celebrity.
All that being said, I very much support other activism for fighting the creeping threat of total fascism in the meantime as well.

If we ever had hard proof of insider knowledge, my money is on SCOTUS. Both because it’s easier to buy a branch of government by colluding with five useful idiots, and because there’s a GOAT on the SCOTUS staff who leaks their bullshit to the public.

littlewonder@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Tim Walz says he may run for president in 2028 despite failure of Harris campaign1·7 个月前That’s my first choice, personally, and if she wins the primaries, that’d be awesome.
Otherwise, I could still get pretty hyped about a Walz/AOC ticket, which would pave a more conventional path to a 2032 AOC presidential run.
You’re right about the need to organize locally, but I don’t think it applies in this context, given local movements can realistically impact state and federal politics at a slow pace at the best of times (which is usually ok–they’re local organizations, after all).
It’s frustrating to find a lack of mechanisms to affect URGENT change to the federal government without the benefit of time, legal consistency, privacy, powerful allies, money and resources, (I could go on for ages).
