I could also live without it, myself. There are some very nice conveniences associated with the overall ‘family hub’ suite of functionality, but it’s all bells and whistles and not truly necessary of course. But the partner and our spawn appreciate it and they’re happy, and that’s good enough for me
I mean, I probably can’t disagree with your sentiment in a general sense, I’m just not sure how this refrigerator nonsense is contributing?
It knows because there are cameras inside the fridge and it can recognize the items you put inside and remove, and has logic built around all of these observations.
It’s not perfect but I’m surprised how often it’s accurate, especially in a household that doesn’t give any shits whatsoever about refrigerator organization.

You don’t say? Thank goodness we have your recollection, we certainly wouldn’t want to read the article or anything. 👀

“…don’t want that in my party…”
Is this guy the new owner or something? I’ve never heard of him.

Not quite to the core; rather, it’s a little more (than usual) off to the right, but it’ll swing around some more.

In this day and age is it possible to create a commune? With majority of vegetables coming from one acre and all put in to get wifi to our subdivision? So the bill is not that high?

Sounds like an interesting experience, for sure, but I wouldn’t call it the expected result from trying a little bit of stinky tofu, sorry that happened to you. I use it as a condiment with my rice dishes all the time and enjoy it quite a bit.

Why are the turbines still running?

I think I understand the pixel you are referring too, it may be diagonally adjacent to the click pixel.
I’m not sure I understand ‘why’ post OP suggests that should be the ‘correct’ click pixel?

Just fyi, some Lemmy clients (e.g. Thunder, probably others) show the upvotes and downvotes distinctly, so you can easily see something like ‘2 1’ which corresponds to ‘upvotes downvotes’. It’s makes it easier to see if there are downvotes versus removed upvotes.

Welcome to Lemmy! Just by being here you’re about to find out (whether you like it or not!) just how viable it is to replace (almost) everything in your life with open source alternatives, it’s just seems to be part of the (awesome) culture around here. Enjoy!

Why is advertising ok, but any response in opposition of it, is not?

Two years of negotiations - that’s absurd. How many games/products have been released under the MS umbrella in that same span?
Companies: I know you don’t care, but you can easily treat your employees as shareholders and deliver value to them, just the same as delivering value to customers. You release products iteratively, just treat the people helping to make it happen with some dignity and deliver to them as well.

Why does Thaler want to assign copyright to a non-human so badly, when he could simply take the credit himself?
We can see he made references to the fact that Corporations are considered people (fucking citizens united) in his arguments to the court.
Could someone perhaps use the result of the failed cases in an attempt to get citizens united overturned, based on any precedent set through Thaler’s appeals (assuming they all fail)? Maybe that’s too hopeful of a take?
The QuickBooks ecosystem is a large driver, but they also offer their payment processing via many other paths. Competition in the space is vast, and a good thing, unfortunately most of the competing products are actual garbage.
