Certainly better than my 2023 Pixel Fold but mine’s 3 years old. Youtube reviewers said the crease wouldn’t be noticeable once there’s content on it but I can always feel it when I scroll and text doesn’t look perfect over those pixels. I do like having a bigger screen for my failing vision but I waited 2 years and got my open box/refurb unit for $350 last year, I don’t expect that kind of depreciation on this thing.

floorp on desktop. The developers are a team of Japanese students and it works well enough. I’ve had weird right click behavior after some of their many updates but it syncs with mozilla just fine.

Last fall I got a refurb OG Pixel Fold for tree-fiddy. I like the more squat form factor and squarish display when in tablet mode than the weird tall rectangles that preceded this year’s Samsung and Apple offerings. It’s a buggy experience but easier on my failing eyes when needed. Apps need to be stretched to the inner screen and nobody’s using the extra space efficiently. I assume Apple will have that fixed by the time theirs is released. For less than $400 at the time, it was either this or a mid-range slab phone and even though I’m not a power user, novelty won out. My phone was the last one to get (relatively) limited OS and security update support, no google snap, or DP alt mode from the USB-C port.

Paying for usenet access and an indexer is worth it to me. My ISP’s only ever gotten on me about torrenting so that’s a last resort for me and it doesn’t work well with “file sharing” nodes on my VPN anyway. Nothing saturates my 500GB plan like usenet downloads.
