That’s what Lincoln said back when the new party was formed to fix the system.
I think parties are not the solution. Abolish them and have each representative stand and make policies for themselves.

Oh no. It is very relevant. It makes all his input on the matter irrelevant as he has shown to let his instincts override his base and learned moral intuitions.

It’s kinda the paradox of tolerance come to think of it. Civility and tolerance go hand in hand.

There IS a propagandistic dimension to this, even as it doesn’t dispel the threat of invasion. The PRC tries to exploit their military development spending to project an image of strength but not to solely bully Taiwan or the Tiger states but towards its own population. It’s a display of strength to further the image of chinese hegemony. Maintaining this image is just as important for inner political stability.

This is in line with korean anti-harassment laws. Seems draconian to us but is entirely consistent with what koreans have been living with for over a decade now.

Won’t ICE try to abuse some loophole?

Not many if any.
But that was precisely my initial point.

Are you serious? I just pointed out that the fascists haven’t won yet and you call that ‘crazy’?

I suppose you have figured it all out on your own.

I am specifically talking about the coal counties.

Have you even read what I posted? Have you looked into their history and voting behaviour?
You commit the exact error of dismissal that made them vote red. Bravo.

Wrong. We are not yet at the point that democracy has failed. That is the sort of defeatism that the fascists want you to fall for so you disengage.

This is not about a miracle cure for their issues. This is about awareness for who understands their issues. Even the most basic coal worker understands that a politician cannot just swing a wand and fix their issues. But they also understand that not giving tax breaks to billionaires but to them would go a long way.

It isn’t important that we are right. This isn’t the world we live in anymore. What matters is the pathos of their grandfathers that reminds them that personal action matters that if TACO is not actually fixing their situation they CAN fight against the dying of the light. Fascism roles on vibes. These vibes can be turned against them as the vast majority of us americans does not have an understanding of federal policies or history. But they see their bank accounts and they see that orange Hitler does not help them.

I just literally told you that some of the now reddest states used to be blue and literally instigated insurrections to stick it to the man. Just treat them decently and they will abandon Trump. The fight isn’t over and the democratic party right now is changing. You don’t see it cause nobody reports about it but Bernie is literally talking with ‘the deplorables’ and winning them back on reason and sympathy. That is amazing. And MAGA has nothing to fight that but ignorance and outrage farming.

This is false. We are not. I see the fascists just as you do but there is so much potential for resistance precisely because of awareness. If we just give up, they win.

It does matter. These are the same people keenly aware that their grandfathers instigated insurrections against their exploitation.
Learn your history, boy.

Defense blocs are a different matter. Look on a map where NATO members are vs Russia and compare where KSA and Pakistan are compared to Israel.
Not saying the Middle East shouldn’t show solidarity but it’s a mesh of complex relations and this arbitrary pact just adds to that mess.
Sure. Let’s outlaw lobbyism while we are at it. Plenty of countries have done that and while it doesn’t outright prevent corruption, it sure doesn’t sanction it either.
That in turn empowers the value of every singular vote.
