With level 3 charging most vehicles don’t take multiple hours to charge an almost dead battery to almost full. You don’t fill your gasoline car through a straw, why would you choose to charge your electric car with a level 1 or 2 while on a trip (for overnight charges at home the straw actually makes sense)

For example, a mach-e on that 400 mile trip, charging at 150kw you’d need ~1hr total charge time to finish the trip with the same battery capacity as you start with. But considering you likely start with full battery, and if you finish with completely dead battery, charge time required could be as little as 23 minutes.

I’m of 2 minds, one says it’ll just continue like this as the new normal. Not crash in 6 months. The other says it’s gonna happen during the midterms.

Thanks, It does work out to be less, and I haven’t pushed them on compensation, nor leveraged the offer at my current employ. Just trying to work out what would be acceptable to do, I’m never good with this kind of thing when it comes to jobs/employers and don’t want to alienate myself anywhere.

Agreed, to a point. If society could collectively decide to withhold rent for example… That society likely wouldn’t have high enough rents that withholding would matter.

The system is how it is because of how humans are too. (Some worse than others) We can push against it, try and make things better. And sometimes in history we’ve succeeded. Other times the system just grinds on.

We really need more community and collective action. But the digital age has (intended or not) made it possible for nearly everyone to be more isolated, and that reduces the immediate community and possibility of effective collective action.

I get the idea, but the only thing that most can really do is refuse to pay bills and engage. Then you get thrown into the machine within 2 months. And the bills you don’t pay don’t directly affect the government.

IF one could refuse to pay taxes, that’d be something better. But, most have taxes automatically pulled from their pay before they even get it, and getting an employer to not pay that taxes on to the government is extremely difficult if not impossible in the system.

The system is working as intended. And it sucks
