my tablet (oukitel rt7 titan) is absolutely crap at sun performance, lol. I can only read indoors, sadly.

in this things defense, of its ~1.2kg weight, 90% of it is battery. its got… iirc, a 3600mAh battery. stupid big.

it also doesn’t have a very bright screen, or a good antiglare coating so you won’t be able to read stuff outdoors, period.

boox makes good e-ink stuff, from what I’ve heard.

I personally have an actual tablet that I use for reading, the oukitel titan rt7. Don’t remember what I paid for it, but I think it was about 300usd. its a bit heavy, but I only have to charge it like one or twice a month, and has a big enough screen that I dont have any issues reading stuff on it.

agreed. I’d say let the kid sleep in NLT 10AM, depending on weekly schedule, school workload, etc.

the rules regarding screentime for me, are as follows:

• for reading books/academic texts (either physical paper, or ebooks): unlimited, provided they keep both their grades high, and the house generally clean.
• reddit, instagram, youtube, etc: no more than 1hr daily combined
• social life maintenance (SMS/calls/hangouts etc) unlimited; assuming chores are done, and grades are good.

let me know if they’re worth the price, been looking for an ereader tablet that has a long lasting battery - currently have a oukitel rt7 titan, the thing is a fucking BRICC (something like 2.3kg I think) but hey, its battery lasts literally weeks (28ish hrs ScreenOnTime, but thats about 17days of usage for me)

have you looked at the color e-ink tablets? A cursory look reveals the boox air3, which might be a good fit for your use case
