…yyyyes? That’s what I was saying.
…yyyyes? That’s what I was saying.
But I barely know her! 😱
They tried to, and tons of people immediately twigged to the fact that the footage was altered.
I want to believe this is going to start their house of cards collapsing, but unfortunately, I’m pretty certain most maga dipshits have skulls so thick that a GBU-57 would have trouble reliably impacting their trains of thought.
Yeah - the centrists and neoliberals will take this to mean “do more centrist and neoliberal things”; progressives will take this to mean “do more progressive things”; the DNC will take this to mean “give more money to centrist and neoliberal consultants and ignore what people are actually saying”. Not helpful in any sense.
So, in an unironic, but still very sarcastic and disappointed sense: thanks Obama 😒
Seriously, maybe tell the Democratic leadership to pull their head out of their ass and listen to people - as you did back in 07-08, which carried you to victory. And then gasp follow through on what they say, up to and including taking a page out of the GOP playbook - just do things that are helpful to normal people and say “fuck you, make me” when centrists and republicans try to stop you. We now have an imperial presidency, after all, so why not try to use it to do some good when (or if 😓) non-fascists get into power again.
So, yeah, it was fucking dumb, and orangeboi is a categorical fucking imbecile, and it’s comically obvious that - up until about a week or two ago - he was infuriatingly russophilic, and disturbingly friendly with Putin.
With that said: it is also absolutely true that Biden slow-walking military aid for Ukraine (largely at the behest of his NS advisor, Jake Sullivan) was an absolute ass-tier strategic play. The constant haranguing of “oh, the F-16s are too complex” (they’re not), “oh, we don’t want to peeve the ruskies too much” (relying on scare tactics is one of the core elements of Putin’s geopolitical playbook), “oh, ATACMS would trigger a real response from Putin” (it didn’t), “oh, we didn’t mean THIS red line, we meant THAT red line” (hello, noncredible defense policy desk speaking, just a moment) has been, since very shortly after the start of the more active phase of the war in Feb 2022, deeply infuriating to a LOT of people, and it served as a milquetoast example of strategic leadership that the EU frustratingly refused to step beyond.
If orangeboi simply says “fuck it” and opens the floodgates for military aid… well, I will still fucking hate the guy for what he’s doing to my country by being in charge of it, but meaningful and significant aid to Ukraine is one hell of a silver lining. I was convinced Putin and orangeboi were just gonna try to slice Ukraine up like a Molotov Ribbentrop pie, but color me very pleasantly surprised that Putin’s intransigence has somehow actually gotten orangeboi to completely lose his patience with Russia.
So it’s specifically this sort of shit that makes me want to fuck off from the US for good. I don’t think I can mentally handle dogmatically voting idiots of this caliber and prevalence.
Yes - but, point of order: kidnapping is unlawful by its very nature
The way you phrased your comment was pretty unambiguously hostile and absolutist. That’s probably where the downvotes are coming from: the fact that you’re being an asshole, not the fact that you’re on point.
Point 3 looks like a pretty obvious poison pill. That is: Russia could conceivably start some sort of grey-zone conflict with Finland before the 6-month period, and thus (per international law) tie Finland’s hands in their use of defensive land mines.
In Finland’s shoes, it’d be prudent to just go “yeah we’re breaking the treaty, and were specifically ignoring Article 20 Section 3 due to urgent national security considerations”.
lol ok, Oklahoma. Go for it. Have fun. Throw Molotovs at the radars that literally save your lives in tornado season. You’re only going to decrease your own population. And I’m genuinely past caring at this point.
Yeah. As well as the US’s often world-leading position in research, development, science, and education. Brain drain is happening as we speak. Maybe it’s a thing that needs to happen. Idk. But I am seriously looking at shooting for a position at a biotech somewhere in the EU.
I’m gonna guess that most Germans aren’t actually viewing the situation as a zero-sum game. So no, I don’t think the US breaking bad is going to make Germans happier, in general.
Enjoy the day you voted for, Texas
Tbh it’s better than strip mining or coal power plants.
And in extremely hot areas, planting crops under solar arrays is a great idea, and can help more sensitive crops survive in areas where they’d otherwise get baked to death.
You need to understand that the cohort of American users on this platform overwhelmingly agree with you on a lot of the deficiencies of our countrymen. You’re preaching to the choir here.
What book or series is this from?
No, dipshit, you voted for all of this - you were (in the most charitable case) just too fucking dumb and incurious to understand what the fuck you were voting for
Seriously, HMart is the shit. The produce is generally WAY better than you can get at “normal” markets - largely because their stock actually gets cleaned out and turned over on a regular basis.
Hey so let’s not go ham on the pessimism just yet. There’s a lot of things that can go wrong in a lot of places, yes, but we’re seeing a lot of good things so far. Let’s not assume he and the movement he’s starting is gonna fail a priori.
