The creds were published on Reddit, and the feds evidently didn’t bother to activate 2FA

I am genuinely mystified at how you can call me a “privileged twat” for being a conscientious traveler and tourist, and expecting the same from others as a baseline - because again, when you are a tourist, you are a guest.
We are not talking about refugees here. We are talking about people who have enough cash to drop on a vacation to a foreign country, and then they go and shit in someone’s yard. That’s simply unacceptable - and, yes, uncivilized. This is not a controversial point to anyone, except you.

Common sense is that tourists don’t shit in yards without extreme circumstances forced upon them.
Lmfao do you even hear yourself? Where the fuck do you live? Common sense is you don’t shit in random people’s yards. Ever. Full stop. And I’m not endorsing violent response to that sort of thing, but if you were to try that in, say, San Antonio, TX, you’d get shot.

If you’re a guest in a country, don’t be a shithead.
If you and your countrymen are consistently shitheads to another specific country and their citizens when a guest in said specific country, they’re liable to start changing things to discourage you from coming in the first place, or even make rules to discourage you from visiting in the first place. You are a guest. Fucking act like it.
The sakura festival went of without a hitch for decades. This is a recent development that came with Chinese tourists beginning to go to the festival a lot more. When you are a tourist, the onus is on you to do some prep work and understand any preparations you should be making. Shitting in someone’s yard is indefensible; a reasonable preparation for the festival is “take a shit at your hotel before going to the festival”. I do not understand why you find this hard to parse.
It’s not prejudice. It’s common sense and actuarials.

Gauge deez nuts, ICEatzgruppen

Holy fuck, guy, it’s not racism against Chinese people. It’s frustration and irritation against tourists that behave heinously. Those tourists unfortunately happen to be predominantly Chinese. But if Americans or Russians or Brazilians or Indians were doing it, we’d all be having the same reaction. Stop borrowing outrage.

Even if that is true, how is “I will shit in this random residential yard” a reasonable solution to that?

That’s… not the problem. And even if it was, the solution is absolutely not “I guess I’ll shit in that guy’s yard”. Go into a hotel lobby or coffee shop or bar or whatever, ask for the restroom (use your phone as a translator if you need to, because that’s a thing now), and do it there.

Can confirm. Decided to pop for a base MBA, but with 32g ram, about a year ago, and it’s fantastic. Unbelievable battery efficiency, completely silent (passively cooled), and still decently performant for when I want to compile something/do a cpu intensive thing. I’ve used MBPs as corp-issue dev machines for nearly a decade and a half now, so I’m quite comfortable in the ecosystem.
I still have my old T14g2 running fedora, though (in addition to a plethora of non-mobile systems). Also snagged one of those silly-cheap Acer laptops with a fairly late model i3 in it, because it was $200 and had a SODIMM and m.2 slot, just as a spare/extra (it’s running kinoite)

Do they…? I’ve never thought so for the most part, tbh.

They very obviously redacted things like “don’t” in some PDFs I’ve seen. Hmmm. Don’t. Don T. Wonder why that was done.

Which is hilarious considering how so many of them are getting absolutely wrecked by the tariffs. Because they can either eat the tariff and hemorrhage money, or pass on the tariff to customers and hemorrhage sales (and thus hemorrhage money).
I wonder when they’re gonna realize that they should try something other than shooting themselves in the dick? Time will tell, I suppose.

Yep, and the CEO essentially says as much on a regular basis. Not to mention, the origin of the name of the company is the scrying sphere that Sauron and Saruman (the bad guys) in LOTR use, so that’s telling in a comically dark fashion as well.

The FOV can’t actually capture that, if you’ve ever seen wearable cam footage.

Hey so can we have this everywhere please?

Lmfao who wants to buy a Chrysler Stellantis product? They’re just… bad. They’re not even cheaper. They’re just worse, and break more.

If you go to a us dealership, there’s pretty much always some sort of financing deal or somesuch. But there’s also very often a “dealer markup”. Never, ever pay that.
That said, for some cars, they refuse to budge on that. For instance, when the new Nissan Z came out a few years ago, the dealers tacked on like 10-15k pretty much across the board, and then Nissan corporate was surprised when it didn’t sell too well… because the dealerships got too fucking greedy.
If I needed to buy a new car, I’d vastly prefer to just spec it out online, click “order”, and then have a text come in when it arrives at my local Nissan or BMW or Hyundai maintenance facility (as appropriate for the car). I do not want to talk to a human and have to literally socially engineer them into giving me a fair fucking price. Jesus christ.
Wish we had this in the states
