Literally this.
Do they? Well most people dislike dentists because it’s very uncomfortable to have someone messing about in your mouth, and many things dentists do (cleanings, some surgeries) hurt or leave you uncomfortable for a long time after, and most people think of it as mostly aesthetic. Compared to say, a surgeon that might be similar but is saving your life, or a family medicine doc that at most puts a piece of wood on your tongue.
Also, dentists go to dentist school, not med school (in most countries at least). Dent is easier to get into, and is usually a shorter time to get your degree. Some people think this devalues dentistry, and say dentists aren’t as good as “regular” doctors because of that. It’s not valid, dentists are very good at what they do, so don’t stress it.
that’s really funny, but it seems the circumstances that lead to this were rather tough.
Legendary Hololive x Programmer Humor crossover.
Not under capitalism. I believe happiness is achievable though, maybe not in the sense of “constant euphoria” though. I think a lot of people misunderstand what it is to be happy… To be healthy, glad to see another day, and fulfilled. To me, that’s happiness.
hilarious that you’d post this on Lemmy too!! the fediverse really is incredible
AAAAH!! Yes, that makes sense, thank you~
I don’t understand what this means.
Our saviour, the last bastion.
Well that’s still the same point though. Lemmy and the fediverse are all about rejecting the authority of centralized services/social media.
IDK, I see tons of left and trans content on YT and Twitter, for example. That is because that’s the type of content I like, and the type of people I follow. I suspect what you’re noticing isn’t so much the presence of communism and trans people, but the absence of dumb shit.
The issue with large scale marketing is that it can be rather expensive.
Anyone can learn to code and contribute to Lemmy’s codebase, just like anyone can learn marketing. The difference is that it’s not so easy to, say, buy ad-space, get deals with content creators, etc.
Lemmy’s design, however, can be done by web designers, and it is done by web designers/designers, in part at least. For example, Lemmy.world’s icon was made by a regular user. That’s part of marketing I think (?).
No clue, but !thunder_app@lemmy.world is my favourite :D
I diagnose you with insanity. It’s terminal, I’m sorry…

Oh I’m Azorean so maybe that’s why I didn’t think of that… We’re not inbred!!!
