CSS is useful but also the devil.
I assume they can already get your location from your phone.
It’s weird that when I run out of money I just don’t have more money.
From where are they taking this extra $1B?
If street sweepers went away, people would notice within a week or two.
If tech bros went away, we’d just enjoy not having tech bros.
It’s like that one thing: “Who would you notice is gone first, the CEO or the janitor?”
Yeah, I bet that’s the intended behavior.
But I can’t get upset since like you are saying it’s the first beta.
I imagine a lot of little things like this will be ironed out in a couple weeks.
I’ve toggled that setting back and forth, and on the iPad at least, it’s not really honoring it. I’ll try to share a screenshot of that.
I’m currently chalking that up to a beta bug that I assume will be handled better in the future.
So, yeah, this is my iPad right now. I’d assume the dock would come back because there’s plenty of space. But it’s not. So, yeah, I’m thinking bug.
Here’s a screenshot (hopefully this uploads correctly).
Clamshell, no. (Edit: One thing about clamshell I didn’t think about until I just ran into it is FaceID. If you happened to have your iPad closed, you wouldn’t be able to do that. Not saying that’s the end of the world, but I just tried to log in to something on the second monitor and it needed my face.)
Second monitor so far seems good! I’m on the M1 Pro, so if you have something newer than that it’d obviously feel even better. I haven’t done anything too extreme with it just yet. But I’m typing this on my external monitor with the iPad right now, and the windowing certainly feels better just because you have more space to put stuff.
When you launch at app for the first time it’ll go full screen, but you just have to resize it, then it knows. And one thing don’t like about the windowing on the iPad itself right now is that the dock will disappear. On the monitor - so far - the dock has stayed visible, which I like. So that’s neat.
That’s a good question. I’m not sure.
I don’t have any other cameras to try that out.
I’m really excited about this update. I use my iPad with continuity all the time (typing on it right now with it connected to my mac). I don’t even necessarily hate Stage Manager on iPad, but it never fully worked like they advertised because some apps just didn’t work well with it.
So if this can hopefully iron some of that out and also give us better file management, then great!
Does anyone know if that worthless text input language thing still exists in 26? That thing that screwed up every UI and got in the way of other interface buttons?
Ditching FB was one of the easier things for me back when I did it right after the Cambridge Analytica thing.
Still share photos with family, just do it directly now.
I keep in touch with all my friends who are actually friends.
EZPZ.
Thanks for the recommendations!
I have actually switched over to Mango Languages because my library gives free access to it.
But if I don’t end up liking that I’ll give these a shot.
Interesting.
I have switched to Mango Languages because my library gives free access to it. So I’ve been trying to share that information with people. Or, at least, check your local library to see if they offer something.
Same. Deleted the app this weekend and let my 918 day streak evaporate.
I’m actually kind of surprised at how little it affected me, to be honest. I had a little bit pre-regret about losing the streak before deleting the app, but now a couple days later that feeling certainly doesn’t exist. AND there’s that benefit of no stupid owl guilt tripping you every day.
If you have a library card, you might check with your library to see if they have free access to something like Mango Languages, as well.
Mine does, so I can use that app for free. I’m probably going to switch to it as my main app soon because this guy is an asshole.
I’m so close to letting my streak die because of this dude. Fuck him.
My library (and check yours, too!) has free access to Mango Languages, and what I have tried there has been nice. But they don’t guilt trip you into doing lessons so you have to keep on top of it yourself.
Then quit your job and get one that doesn’t need to worry about stuff Microsoft doesn’t support anymore.
