Well, I find such things interesting just for entertainment because I love stories. Recently, I’ve become fascinated with stories about real people and have read many such stories on Reddit, and no, it wasn’t like anime at all, it was all quite sad. For example, there was one story where a girl stalked a guy and almost killed him out of jealousy when he was talking to another girl, piercing his leg with a crossbow arrow, causing him to move to another state and change his phone number and appearance, and now the poor guy has a lifelong injury. So yes, people like yandere in real life are very dangerous and not as cool and beautiful as people would like to see them, and it’s better to avoid them if you don’t want to be stabbed to death out of jealousy at 3 a.m. Alas, real life is not anime. By the way, if you’re very lucky, your yandere may turn out to be a 70-year-old woman… And no, I’m not joking, this happens.

1·7 days agoPerhaps some people, such as artists, think that more people will be able to notice them there as before, and the rest are likely to be inexperienced or those who don’t care.
To be clear, there’s no way to know that here either. I’m not saying go to those other communities, I’m just answering the question about where everyone is.
Yes, it’s a serious problem, I don’t even know if there have ever been jokes like, look, this comic was definitely made by an American, but no, I found out that everything was done by a Chinese, and this American passed this work off as his… It’s terrible, why did it happen?
And the situation with AI reminds me of such cases of injustice.
There are so many levels one could answer at. First off, we don’t want every community to exist on lemmy.world. Just because it doesn’t exist there doesn’t mean you need to make it. Second, I consider graphic novels/comics/manga to be just as out of fashion as books these days. AFAIK kids barely read at all anymore. Third, I consider drawing much harder than writing, but that’s a personal thing. Heck, both are trivially generated by AI these days, so the idea of having a superiority complex about one seems silly to me. Artists should stick together. In the same medium, if they want to.
I don’t know why you decided that this is a superiority complex, I created this community as a place where people can express themselves in the old way, because I believe that such stories have something unique, because they can be not just stories, but something can unite people, since the feelings of the author can be understood through the text, which can then grow into communication, and then perhaps into something more.
If you don’t like seeing visual art next to written art, that’s a personal preference. I don’t think it says anything about the state of people’s brains that one community is larger than another, if anything, visuals are probably just easier to market in a world with a LOT of “content” going around. But at the end of the day, there just aren’t a whole lotta people using Lemmy. So I’m not surprised when you say a specific community doesn’t have a lot of activity. It could be that people interested in stories just have more established communities on [competing sites].
That’s not the point: I like these comics, but I also like to read stories that I didn’t find here, and I don’t trust other places because there’s no way to know if an AI story is created or not.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What open source software do you use to create memes?
1·13 days agoIt’s good that I don’t use it anymore.
It looks like your community is pretty general theme-wise, have you considered maybe a “theme of the week” post, or a sticky where people can dump prompts for someone to pick up and run with?
Yes, I think it would be possible to organize themes for the week, for example, fantasy with an unusual main character, if that’s what you had in mind.

I’m not sure you’ll be satisfied with an almost zero asset, but okay.

1·14 days agoMy bad.
I was really referring to the kind of loneliness where you can’t find someone to talk to about what you want, like art. But when I did the post, I was tired and could not even express my thoughts normally, I apologize for this, lol.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was it like the first time you had to call 911?
31·15 days agoI don’t know if it’s strange, but I’ve never called the police yet.
Why don’t you have a cat or dog ?
I will forget to feed them and they will starve to death. I am a very bad owner.
I’m afraid that if I say what I like, people will think I’m crazy and that I need to see a psychologist. And talking about nothing, for example, I’m tired of participating in conversations about how the day went, how life sucks, and how people want to die instantly and painlessly so that it all ends.
Focus on yourself. Being lonely isn’t rare these days, but being completely alone gives you complete freedom. I’m fairly new to working out, but I’ve stuck to a relatively consistent schedule for four months or so and my body looks and feels so much better. I’m working on my pull-up and dead hang form at the moment, and I’m finding it really tough but really rewarding. I’m on week 2 of 100 push-ups per day, and seeing my body go from barely being able to do 15 in a set, to almost doing 30 in a set, has been really fun! You don’t get the opportunity to be selfish with your time without guilt very often in life, and if you’re gonna be alone anyway you may as well make the most of it.
I constantly have problems with this because I always forget to exercise, or find it extremely difficult to force myself to do so. Recently, however, I realized that the reason for this is that my brain doesn’t see the point in wasting the body’s limited resources on exercise and is lazy, preferring to save energy for creative projects…
Oh! Also! Get a bit weird with it. I grew my hair out for seven years, but I trimmed it earlier this year, then shaved it all off after getting sober. Just recently, I shaved it into a mohawk, and a couple of weeks ago I shaved designs into the sides of my head. Whether it looks good or not isn’t the point; the point is about reclaiming your self expression, and enjoying your selfish experience. Be self centered. Be protective of your time. Be expressive. Do what you want. Say what you want. Spend how you want. Sell your sofa. Paint your walls. Do something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t because you’ve felt self-conscious. If you’re feeling invisible at the moment, make the most of it. I started baking recently, too. Totally blew my calorie budget for the day but I ate a whole loaf of chocolate chip banana bread and honestly it was worth it.
I agree with you on that.

Hmm, what about debts that ordinary people have been paying for thousands of years without even knowing it?
