I really like that movie. But watch the directors cut, for the love of all that’s good! It removed the narration at the beginning that gave away the whole plot. Much better that way.

Just watched The Gorge (2025) recently. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad film, but it was really mediocre.

I love the premise of having the two guard towers, one on each side of a mysterious and foggy gorge, not supposed to communicate with each other, guarding us all from whatever is down there. People have previously gone in but never come out. Strange monsters sometimes attempt the climb up the cliff walls. Is it the gate to hell? What’s the story behind it all? Chemistry slowly happens between the guards of the two towers.

(If you think you might enjoy this movie, don’t read my spoilers. Just watch it. I liked it even though it was a bit disappointing.)

Also the && operator in sh. I think you can figure out what happened.

I’m guessing something like… Copy file/dir from location A to location B and then delete from A, but the copy had failed (and the delete unfortunately worked fine)?

Move the cursor to the start of what you want to cut, press ALT+A, then move the cursor with arrow keys (you’ll see text be highlighted from where the cursor was to where you move your cursor), then once you’ve moved the cusor to where you want, press CTRL+K to cut.

EDIT: And with more complicated strings (like numbers or symbols - just regular-ass ASCII symbols) there will be tens of <stringItem>, because apparently numbers and letters don’t even work the same. Even line breaks have their own <stringItem>. And if the number of these <stringItem> and their charLen don’t match what’s actually in pt:data, it won’t open the file.

I was reverse engineering fucking around with the LBX file format for our Brother label printer’s software at work, because I wanted to generate labels programmatically, and they’re zipped XML too. Terrible format, LBX, really annoying to work with. The parser in Brother P-Touch Editor is really picky too. A string is 1 character longer or shorter than the length you defined in an attribute earlier in the XML? “I’ve never seen this file format in my life,” says P-Touch Editor.

No, but it also gives you a wider selection of mice to choose from, since you could just ignore the wireless functionality. Some of them may cost a bit more, but not necessarily very much.

Yeah, I don’t like Temu, and I’m sure the app is a privacy nightmare, but these claims don’t seem right. If it’s true, I’d like to see someone else verify it.
