Just want to say that your degree is not toilet paper nor do you lack real world skills.

You have real skills and your degree reflects that. What is the issue is the system under which we exist not valuing certain skills and certain people. As this system, especially in the US, crumbles further everyone will struggle more and more to find work that pays decently, including those with the currently ‘valuable’ degrees.

I don’t have much advice for you other than what you’ve already done, except maybe lean on your family if you have one or can, but I hope you find a job soon, Comrade.

I visited New York for the first time with a friend of mine who has family there and knows the city well. We went to Grand Central and I was admiring the beautiful artwork on the ceiling and a guy passing by called me a “fucking idiot”.

I was surprised and turned to my friend to ask if he was talking to me, which they confirmed. I was actually really happy, I got the infamous NY harsh street talk! I’ve traveled all over the world and never was spoken to like that anywhere else. NY is truly very special.

Aragorn in the movie might be said to have done this, although that’s also debatable. Book Aragorn is different. He didn’t abandon his duties due to feelings of inadequacy, that is just in the films. In the book Aragorn didn’t immediately claim his title but not because he felt inadequate. Aragorn went around for decades traveling and working throughout Middle earth, and Arda generally, to organize and gain support among the people and sectors of power. He didn’t want to claim it just because he was born to inherit it, he wanted to work for it in some sense. He was fulfilling his duties throughout Middle earth. That being said, he was always very confident about being king and that he would return, but they didn’t feel that would play well in the movie so they made him that way to make him more sympathetic.
