nice

If you elect an easily manipulated old fool to office don’t be surprised when we take advantage of that to weaken the American Empire. Xi Jinping is not “buddies” with Trump, but Trump thinking they are buddies can certainly be beneficial to the People’s Republic.

Well according to this article the cops don’t really give a fuck about what is or isn’t legally protected so why should anyone else?

One girl? It’s actually a super common thing in myths for gods to go down and make themselves a little demigod. Mary lived in a very hellenised region. So I imagine those type of myths were known to people there via the greeks. She was just following a long tradition.

And the fact it was all caused because some chick get pregnant and her excuse was that god wanted to fuck and like who is gonna say no to that? And her husband believed her.

谢谢，对我美国人^_ 我的汉字是拼音。哈哈哈

I saw this in my replies and thought it was a real .world user for a second lol

also the data you can collect based on who goes to them is highly valuable too.

These events are designed on purpose by the intel community to act as a pressure release valve. You let the libs get in the street and be real mad for awhile. Nothing happens. They go home and get back to work.

耶！我是没国人 :( 我学习中文。 我的中文不好哈哈哈。你是中国人吗？

嗨嗨！！吃了吗？你说中文吗？

I think the most annoying thing about being in .ml is all the .world people who have like kneejerk reactions to anything you say and get hostile just because of your instance. I have used account on Lemmygrad, and Hexbear too. Lemmygrad was the most laid back and I really liked it but I wanted to dip my toes into wider lemmy (grad isn’t federated with a lot of the more reactionary instances, which i like and is valid but causes me to not see certain things). Lemmy.ml is more like a normal social media site. It has the reactionaries, the liberals, etc. A lot of the interactions are negative and confrontational. But its also got a lot more content in general.

I don’t use other social media from lemmy. Haven’t for years now. So this is like my 1 cig a week allegory. Where I let myself have a bit of the slop.

The real question: What is worse for me? Plastic bottled water that has been filtered but then contaminated with plastic, or tap water that is known to have heavy metals in it? Ah, the joys of modern life.

So, the good thing is you don’t need to know Russian. There was a wave where the US realized it was very behind in math and basically adopted the Soviet Pedagogy carte blanche(in the advanced fields anyway not K-12). So you can find college level math textbooks that are in english and based on Soviet works from the time. The main textbook I have like this is something I inherited It’s simply called “Univeristy Mathematics I” and is by Jack R Britton and , R. Ben Kriegh of the University of Colorado, and Leon W. Rutland of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Library of Congress Catalogue Number is 65-11880 if that helps. I can’t tell you where to find it, but perhaps thriftbooks.com could be a good place to look for similar things? In it’s citations it lists The USSR Olympiad Problem Book: Selected Problems and Theorems of Elementary Mathematics, among other things I don’t feel like typing out. It has a lot of them.

It covers by Chapter: Fundamental Ideas, The Complex Number System, Algebraic Expressions Equations and Inequalities, Geometry and Real Numbers, Relations and Functions, Linear and Quadratic Equations, Trigonometric Functions, Limits and Continuity, The Derivative and the Inverse Derivative, Theorems on Derivatives, Further Aplications of the Derivative, The Definite Integral, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, The Calculus of Trigonometic and Hyperbolic Functions, and Formal Integration and Applications.

It’s very good for going into the conceptual level on everything and getting a complete understanding. As it is from the 1960s it doesn’t just assume you have a calculator either. So I’ve been using it to really build out my foundational understanding.

I also have some other books that expand into like Calc, Calc with Analytical Geometry, Applied Differential Equatons, etc. But this is the big like overview one where as those are about very specific things. I wish I had a PDF I could just send you, but it’s literally a physical book I got out of my dead grandfathers workshop. He was a chemical engineer and had a lot of old stuff lying around like that.

I had that happen with some random guy over the Iran war where I just made an offhand comment about how bad the US was doing and he starts going on a tirade about how America is #1 and yadda yadda. Anyway I kinda laughed and said I wanted to move on and was uncomfortable. A couple days later I saw him again and he said, “I looked it up and you were right about that one thing you mentioned but I’m still right about most of it.” Like sure buddy.

Just be like, “Okay, what about the pacific garbage patch? Did human activity cause that? Should we be trying to fix it?” It’s pretty hard to argue that the fish made all the used water bottles themselves.

Did YOU read the article? These are the laws in these states that specifically state what the aggravating circumstance is.

It would have taken you less time than typing that comment.

Ehhh, I kinda have to push back on this a bit here. I’m 100% on board that this lady is a wacko and monster, and that women should be able to abort as many babies as they damn well please, to be clear. It’s just that from these peoples perspective it’s a baby right? I’m pretty sure someone murdering a newborn would be treated more harshly than a typical murderer. So if we are looking at it from the weirdos perspective we have to look at it as a baby murder. Not just a normal murder. Now I might be wrong about the specifics of baby murder. I’m no lawyer. But I thought it relevant to bring up.

I think math education sucks. I hated math in school. I would get 0s because I was sitting there figuring out easier ways to get the right answer. Literally making up my own equations. And they’d say I had to do it the normal way or I’d get a 0. And so much of it is just pointlessly slow and boring. As an adult I got some math textbooks based on Soviet Pedagogy and went through them a bit. It was so much nicer. I still haven’t bothered to learn as much math as you have though. I still have the books so maybe eventually i will. I just have no like intense need to know it so have been doing other things. It’s something I do on days I’m bored with nothing to do. I’ve found that for me to actually learn something I have to understand it down to the most fundamental levels. If I’m just memorizing some equation then I won’t learn it. I’ll struggle. I need to deconstruct everything and know conceptually why the equation works the way it does.
