- To wait = Attendre, «il attend le bus»
- To attend = Assister, «il assiste un concert»
- To assist = Aider «il aide son ami»
Throwing Spanish into the mix:
- To wait = Esperar (Sp), «yo espero el bus»
- To hope = Espérer (Fr), «j’espère gagner»
