There were no negative repercussions last time they tried. Why wouldnt they do it again?

I dono what people expected. Discord costs money to develop and run. It was always just a matter of time before it cost money.
A rock through the window is more effective and faster than reading this wall of text.
I mean sure… but using a key to enter isnt really any safer? Like lock picks and jimmys and air bags have been defeating physical locks for even longer? Hell, a brick through a window gets you in faster than anything.
Does it include accidents by autopilot?
The morality becomes less important the more your mortality is affected.
They are not stripped for punishment or fun, but because any of them could be a walking clamore mine.
I dont condone the actions of the IDF. I think their current strategy is ineffective and counterproductive in the long run. However, actions like this are easily understood if you put yourself in the shoes of a soldier forced to be in that situation under orders.
The problem os that they rely on their employees… go figure… this just means they cant afford to fire these people.
But i mean… at least there subject to some level of ethi…
Well fuck all of us.
Heat isnt a great generator of electrical power. At least not at lower temperatures ( below boiling, for steam generation). It also suffers from conversion loss. Anytime you convert energy, there is a loss. Using the heat directly avoids another conversion.
Sorry, i just assumed we were at a point where no one other than the 2 of us would be reading this deep.
Yes that is how generations work. But generations in general is a very loose term. If somone in my grandparents’ generation didnt have kids, they would still be the last generation.
But it really doesnt matter. The point is that humanity has only had this ability in the last 100 years or so
No one from the 30’s is still alive?? I better go check on my grandparents.
Also, why the downvote? I was just adding more explanation to a conversation about an idea.
I mean… kinda? If i do the math in my head… if there is a 1 in a million chance every day for something to happen. It seems like it wont happen.
But a million days is just about 2,700 years. The human race has been around maybe 100 thousand? Its a bunch of probabilities stacked on top of each other, in a way that reminds me alot of the Fermi paradox.
And we keep inventing new ways to do it and making the current ways easier. There are also plenty of non self inflicted ways it could happen. Commet or meteor, gamma ray bust, supervolcano, etc.
It really isnt a question of if, but when. Before or after we become interplanetary or better intersolar-system species. My hope at this point is just not in my lifetime.
Ya, by 1st time, i meant in the last generation of humans. Starting in the 30s or so when people started seeing the invention of the things listed above.
I didnt mean like just now in the 2023. Or last decade.
This is also the 1st time in history we could fuck up bad enough that it wont be recoverable. Climate change, nuclear war, biological experimentation, AI… it seems inevitable that we will erase humanity from the galaxy.
Thats rough… the only thing i use Spotify for is Sam Harris’s podcast, “making sense”. It doesnt have any adds. None at all. Not even read by the host homself. However you do need to pay for the service. I would still recommend it to anyone though.
I can think of an old great daily news show that still doesnt have a permanent host… please!!!..
Or run for president.
Wait… theres ads on podcasts even as a premium subscriber?
There is one main difference in this comparison. If you upgrade your desktop consistently, those old parts are valuable on the used market, which can make the upgrades more affordable. Used laptop parts are less desirable due to their inoperability.
To be fair… im not usually watching as mutch as listening in the case of news and podcasts. Though i have to admit being able to see gestures and facial expressions does improve those media.
I do t consider bonds or CDs as gambling. They are guaranteed unless the entire financial institution dies, in which case your investment in ammo matters more than money.
