You should really install another OS or get a new phone. Your current OS (Android 9) has been out of support for 4 years now.

14·1 month agoI wouldn’t say all of that 30% thought that. There is a lot of purposeful and tactical decisions made by the GOP to prevent democratic votes. States where mail in and early voting are not allowed is an example, another is the polling places that do not allow you to give water to the people waiting in line. Then theres the ad campaigns that targeted black people saying of they voted they were going to be jailed by the IRS for some vague tax fraud reason. Some people are terrorized out of being able to vote.
Thats not to discount that there are definitely stupid privileged fucks who simply chose not to vote and let Trump happen.

7·1 month agoI completely agree with what you’re saying here as someone in the US. To add onto it, a large majority of the problem is due to the complete lack of quality public education, and the option for private schooling / home schooling mostly revolving around Christo-Fascist propaganda and not actual facts. As someone who experienced the public school system, I had no idea MLK JR was a socialist. We were only told about the amazing effects of peaceful protests. The media we consume reenforces individualism, and not community. I’ve been trying to make an effort in my own life to try and be more involved with the community around me, and to participate in local politics, volunteer work, and helping your neighbors. I’m hoping there are others like me who are doing the same, and with any luck, the culture you’re describing will see a slow, painful death as people start realizing the harmfulness of this way of living.

2·2 months agoI feel like thats extremely unlikely to happen, at least banning bootloader unlocking. I’m sure a law could come up eventually, but in order to legally block bootloader unlocking they’d end up banning most consumer and enterprise PCs and SBCs. (Not to mention, how would you enforce this when every state around you would not have this restriction; OEMs will not create a California specific SKU.)

4·2 months agoIf you called a taxi company that didnt do fixed rates you should have looked into them before you called. If you consider a ride “mooching” I would not want to be your friend. If your public transit isnt good enough, call your local reps and COMPLAIN.
Fuck this culture of “tipping”. I wouldnt have to fucking tip if they paid their drivers. Do you tip in cash on Uber? The driver won’t know that until they get there and you just look like a low-pay customer. Do you tip in the app? Congrats, you just tipped uber. The driver may or may not receive it. Do you verify with each driver to make sure they end up getting the money? Uber has obfuscated tipping for drivers FOR YEARS.

You want to skip planned obsolescence? Install Lineage, Iode, or /e/. They all still receive updates for devices that have not been officially supported for years.
