I have my phone browser defaulted to reader mode, and it really blows my mind how bad this stuff has gotten whenever I toggle it off. Most sites are straight up unreadable.

How about book clubs? I’m in a couple, and my neighborhood has monthly silent book clubs (bookended with socializing time). Both an opportunity to socialize during meetups, and a great way to occupy your time in between.

I actually kinda like how it feels to say.

Man, I have my diabetes under control now (6.0 A1C) but never stopped peeing all the time. I can’t remember the last night of sleep I got with less than a few bathroom visits. Didn’t help I had to get on a diuretic for my blood pressure.
I’m sure not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve been getting a kick out of Anti Meme lately.

A little more context would be helpful, but in general, I think Atomic Habits and Digital Minimalism remain two of the best books in this general vein.

I might be a bit different since I use Mounjaro for (very well-managed) diabetes, but it definitely hasn’t reduced my desire for alcohol.

Not taking care of myself. I’ve felt so much better and more confident (and practically reversed type 2 diabetes) since I’ve maintained a consistent strength training routine and eaten healthier.

Unscented soap/deodorant and a splash of my favorite cologne.

Not a word, but my favorite recent addition was when someone told me her husband, rather than flip people off in road rage situations, just looks at them and gives them a thumbs down gesture, and it makes them so much more mad. I’ve been doing it whenever I see Cybertrucks.

What OS? Totally fine over here.

Likely not. I’m a cis straight man who tends to be into women who aren’t into men, so while particularly feminine women aren’t my thing, the parts matter to me in terms of dating/having sex. Fully post-op and passing would certainly consider, but I know that’s not always the goal for trans folks.

Yeah, I usually joke I’m too hipster for Reddit and use Lemmy when Reddit comes up, and nobody ever asks for more information. I feel like, at least in their current form, federated apps are too complicated/fussy for anyone who isn’t actively interested in moving away from centralized platforms.

I shave my head in the shower every couple of days. Trim my beard once a week.

I have a Kindle and love it, but if you don’t want to go with Amazon, I think Kobos are a solid option! The current best models are the Kindle Colorsoft and the Kobo Libra Colour, but they both have cheaper models as well.

I can’t recommend getting an e-reader more. It’s so much nicer than staring at a backlit screen for extended periods of time.
I actually did go back to a regular iPhone Pro after using the Pro Max for a while, and feel like I could go even smaller. I have a tablet for when the situation calls for it, and I like my phone to be more compact/easy to hold.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but me. I think my current phone still has a gen or two in it, but I’ll probably go this route for my next upgrade. I don’t need all the features even my current phone has, and I’m a sucker for a sleek device.
Adding this to the list of benefits to being snipped.
