I wish they were ever truly dead

As someone who’s worked in IT, in corporate and not so corporate companies, it’s often not that the support techs don’t care. It’s that management doesn’t. In most companies, I was explicitly told to not care about certain things. If I cared too much and spent too much time on one single problem, to fix it for good, I was told off. As long as users could work in some way, it didn’t matter. Even if that included ineffective or costly workarounds. That kind of thinking has and will always rub me the wrong way.

Why would it be capitalized? There’s only a few words in the English language, that are capitalized. And “internet” isn’t one of them, as it’s just a normal noun.

“State actors” already have the ability to spy on anyone they want. It’s a whole industry

Is it? Obvious, I mean? To IT guys, sure. But I know from experience that IT guidelines are usually just another set of rules to be broken by users, most of the time on purpose or out of (willful) ignorance 😅
Their sound quality is just significantly better compared to Spotify. Even with my bluetooth earbuds I can hear the difference. Spotify and Youtube just sound muddy in comparison.

It’s funny how you think that every single company just lets their IT choose what the best course of action is. Sometimes management just doesn’t care.

Yeah, I thought the same! I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to share it around, since I think the world would be a better place if more people knew about this!

Insulin, and a lot of other stuff, it’s pretty awesome! I watched this talk from Defcon recently. It’s pretty sick.

Oh, we already have jetpacks. They’re just not affordable for the average person and are insanely dangerous to fly with. Also, afaik, they only get less than an hour of flight time.

She did, it’s in the article

“Free speech for me, but not for thee” lol

I do want one of those new flip phones. Since normal phones aren’t getting any more portable, I’d rather have that than carrying around a brick. For me, the biggest problems with these at the moment are repairability, durability and price. Once those are solved, I will probably get one.
But what about muh brainrot?

Wear Matrix cosplay and jump off a skyscraper. Just believe, Neo!
… something about that image is terrifying and funny to me at the same time. 😅

Could just commission someone on Fiverr for an original artwork

Oh, please don’t misunderstand: I personally don’t really care about leaving Youtube myself, but it’s good to have alternatives/competition. And as I said, there’s no direct competition to Youtube, which does everything they do. Low barrier to entry, a huge amount of money behind it, a self contained eco system with decent tools, barely any political affiliation (afaik), etc.
So, I was more talking about why the majority of people won’t leave for other platforms.
Pretty much everything Youtube does is driven by making the platform profitable. Which, ironically, makes me trust them more with certain things. Not a huge fan of their parent company tho.

Youtube is my main source of entertainment. I don’t watch regular TV, and I barely watch any movies or series. Doesn’t have anything to do with an addiction, it’s personal preference lmao
Naaah, this thing is what Jews use! I’ve seen it, no cap!
