8 days agoI use some privacy forward browsers and I can’t close a cookie popup and the sign in to Google banner. Another browser just gave me a short overview with a ground news plug underneath.

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

“Despite its importance, the Posse Comitatus Act has weaknesses and loopholes. One significant concern is the District of Columbia National Guard, which is always under presidential control, potentially allowing the President to use it for law enforcement without invoking the Insurrection Act. Another loophole involves the National Guard operating under Title 32 of the U.S. Code, where they perform federal missions under state command, potentially circumventing the Act’s restrictions”

What’s the chance that there is a possibility of Iran using this material in various forms of warfare, including dirty bombs?
4·22 days agoMy secret shame, which is bad apparently, is that if I’m in an adjacent lane on the side lane of the road, waiting stationary, trying to merge into oncoming traffic, I don’t indicate until I feel like there’s less cars coming and more gaps. This is where my wife freaks out at my lack of assertiveness, it isn’t a lack of confidence and I’m not hesitating, I feel that having turn signal-fu can be an ace up your sleeve in my opinion.

In Australia, even the lamest request to cancel the fine will be accepted by the government. The minor slap on the wrist just keeps everyone honest and for the most part politically aware.
