World News@lemmy.world•Spaniards see Trump as the greatest threat to world peace, ahead of PutinEnglish
6·6 months agoYeah, very smart that one. If he didn’t attack Ukraine, Russia would have been one of the wealthiest countries in the world. The entire EU was dependent on them ffs. Now it wouldn’t surprise me if I hear that the federation breaks apart very soon.

83·1 year agoIt’s actually that simple. Why complicate things. If you bothered to look at Putin a history, you would know what he had been up to all this time.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google has illegal advertising monopoly, judge rulesEnglish
624·1 year agoNo. You have got to split search and ads. Otherwise the web search is going to disappear completely and replaced by social media and ai. It’s for Google s own good.

Technology@lemmy.world•A European Starlink rival’s shares skyrocketed 390% in a week — here’s whyEnglish
2·2 years agoI’m in Italy and outside cities, the Internet is still horrendous. And as I said, if you have a remote farm or garden, which are fairly common here, then you are on your own. Sim based internet is a thing, but there are monthly limits which are risky when you need surveillance and automation to be always live.

Technology@lemmy.world•A European Starlink rival’s shares skyrocketed 390% in a week — here’s whyEnglish
151·2 years agoThere are remote areas where cable won’t reach. For example, I need surveillance on a remote farm and I would love to get internet there.
They think that their domination is strong enough so that after an initial backlash, the users will come back since they have nowhere else to go. And they’re kind of right.
It’s strange how the Internet has been flooded by this news. Like leave Google alone or Firefox gets it. Very strategic use of the media might I say.

Technology@lemmy.world•Chinese wireless routers are 'dangerous'. Should you get one?English
11·2 years agoPropaganda? Judging by the number of downvotes, I assume people didn’t even bother watching a 5 minutes video. Set it on 2x speed.

Technology@lemmy.world•Chinese wireless routers are 'dangerous'. Should you get one?English
12·2 years agoWell…the domestic routers also conduct in heavy data collection and some have technical backdoors, so I don’t know.

31·2 years agoI don’t know about evil, but it’s curious to see that the OS that Xiaomi uses is a modified version of OpenWRT, so the support could have been there. I mean it could still be an option in the future.

23·2 years agoI don’t deny the usefulness aspect of AI. I used it recently to increase the resolution of a video. It’s awesome. But when it’s used to replace info search, art, music… Just why?

Same, almost a year and couldn’t be happier.
