48·2 years agoEven if they encrypt it, the computer needs access to the data thus needs the decryption key. So it’s not very secure anyway.

That is basically it’s reset.css otherwise the required biases might not work ;-)
Websites should only track if DNT is 0. Null means no consent, 1 means rejection.
Consent has to be given, not assumed.

Technology@lemmy.world•Meta banned from using personal data for behavioral advertising in EU/EEAEnglish
71·2 years agoNow I would also like a ban on using my personal data to train an AI model. Soon we’ll get ads based on ai prediction based on our personal data as an indirect way to still do the same things.

Technology@lemmy.world•Great! I like getting tracked by 766 third parties! thanks OutlookEnglish
32·2 years agoOutlook sucks, the android app is marked as an essential/core app, meaning even in super battery saver it’s running in the background eating away a shitton of battery when you really don’t want it to do that.

Technology@lemmy.world•Disney+ ignores autoplay settings on tv?English
1·2 years agoI’ve never seen a setting for autoplay, and I would really like one. Especially as sometimes in the browser when the tab refreshes it auto mutes and then autoplays. I have “watched” an entire episode once while I was away from my computer.

Technology@lemmy.world•Youtube Abblock Reckoning as a service problem?English
25·2 years agoThis, I don’t mind ads besides my content, I despise ads replacing the content, multiple times, with the same ad I already saw.
I don’t mind paying for no ads, but not at those prices.

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube Premium Price Raised in Seven Countries Following Crackdown on Ad Blockers | Technology NewsEnglish
7·2 years agoYeah, the reason I block the ads and don’t buy premium is because the price is too high.
Yeah, let’s also give AI moderation rights over nuclear weapons, that has never gone wrong.
