And what about when they threaten those people with killing their family, friends, and anything else they hold dear? What about demanding them or go to jail? Lose their home? Lots of things can happen.

This will be the last time I reply, okay? I do not have the energy to explain myself to some fucking fool with no reading comprehension. I’ll put it as simple as possible.
Just because I do not agree with something 100%, does not mean that I do not support it 100%.
If you had any reading comprehension skills, you’d have noted during my first comment I asked you where I said I didn’t think the credit deserved to exist at all. You never did that, by the way. You started blabbering about shit I already understand and support. That is precisely why I called you stupid. I never said it did not deserve to exist. I said I voted for Kamala anyway, because I understand the greater good. What are you not fucking getting?
Imagine that. A “leftist” who immediately attacked another actual left leaning person, because for some stupid fucking reason, they read an entire paragraph, and only came through with the sentence “that don’t jive with me, personally”. That’s it. That’s all it was. I didn’t agree with it completely, but still supported it.
That, in my opinion, is why I think you’re terrible about getting your “point” across. You had no point, because you went on the basis of a part of a huge paragraph, without even looking at the rest and digesting that and fully taking it in.
You just don’t get it.
My guy…
They can drop bombs on you from hundreds of miles away via an unmanned drone…
Would you people please remember the day and age we are in now? Holy shit.
I early voted in person unfortunately. One of the other comments said that there seemed to be some ballots that weren’t coming through customs.
Fucking stupid. Lol
Oof. Bad take, bad take.
Here’s the thing, I can still not personally like something, complain about not ever getting anything myself as a single non married person, while still voting for the person and that policy because I know it benefits the greater good.
You don’t seem to realize that people can dislike something, and feel left out of policies like these, but still support it for the greater good.
Next time before you call someone fucking self centered, how about getting more details.
Fucking asshole. Have a terrible terrible day today.
With record turnout out early voting. Don’t forget about that. The news were throwing that around a week before.
Can you go over my comment one more time, and point to me where I said I was against the credit completely? As in, I said I didn’t think it deserved to be there at all?
The government allowed lies to be told on TV and on the internet under the guise of news. There were no real consequences to those who had listeners and repeated foreign government talking points for money. We have not seen any real investigation on how much interference was ran on social media.
I agree.
Nearly every human being believes that they are a good person making rational decisions, so its important to examine the environment around these people to where they can believe they made the right choice when it comes to electing Trump and sadly, it seems our mostly unregulated free speech that let it happen, because the republican party is more organized and effective in communicating their platform and slandering their opponents than democrats are, and they motivated more people to vote than the democrats could as a result. Anger and hate are strong emotions and motivators, and unfortunately the republicans keep on using them and it keeps on working.
I agree.
I have no idea what you’re blaming Lemmy on, if anything I’d expect the userbase here to be more active and left-leaning voters than average. People have a good reason to be frustrated, and I think pointing that frustration at the only alternative option we had for a political party failing election after election to learn how to communicate and how to deliver on what the people really want is a reasonable take.
I’m basically pointing out how senseless some of these comments have been, on almost every single post about either Harris, Walz, or the DNC. The biggest problem this election, that we know of as of yet, was the absence of votes, and white men and women, Latino men and women, voting against a women of color.
The people here may be left-leaning, or at least say they are, but they have nothing but shit takes trying to blame Harris for a shit campaign. They actively chose to allow a fucking criminal to determine the future of their country. It is really quite a take, considering that she actually had policies, told you where to find them, and was CONSTANTLY berated on interviews and shit. Trump got softball questions, and no matter fucking what, he always got away with every single stupid and evil thing he did or said.
Crazy.
Just observing the major differences in attitude here. I’m agreeing with you, and wondering why the vitriol all being placed on Harris and her campaign, instead of on the voters who actively wanted and then voted for a felon.
Everyone who voted for a genocider and lost should really shut the fuck up lmao
Eagerly awaiting your response when Trump amps it to 11, and your argument goes invalid because he “finished the job”.
What will you say then, I wonder?
I swear after this election, people have become so… senseless on here. Wildly different just a few weeks ago when we were sticking up and actively promoting Harris and her policies.
Fucking seriously though. I can see the frustration with the DNC, but some form of action is a hell of a lot better than the total dismantle of America as it is right now. These people could have easily looked into Kamala’s policies that show quite a few good ideas, and a few that I personally didn’t jive with (increase child tax credits, while the people like me and my partner are staunchly against having children that will grow into a world on fire, get absolutely nothing). Didn’t stop me from voting for her though, you know why? Trump has NO plan (GOOD plan, they’ve got PLENTY of bad plans lined up for us all!). AT ALL. So, America’s idiots STILL chose this orange buffoon, with no plans at all, just sparkly words, and now we are really sitting here and trying to blame Harris, who only had 107 days to get her message out there? Come on, Lemmy. I thought you were better than this…
You are not alone. On the AP website’s live vote map, I saw quite a few suspicious looking “called” on states that hadn’t even started yet. I know it was an algorithm or prediction method, and maybe I didn’t look as hard in 2020 as I did this year, but I just can not help but question the amount of shit that happened THIS time not having an affect on the election. I am probably just being hopeful that SOMETHING pops up about all this in the following weeks. Do I believe it will? Nah, not really. We literally allowed a felon to run as president, so, yeah. Am I HOPEFUL? Yes, just a smidge.
While the right is doing their little celebration dance, saying how they are going to do all of these terrible things, I just have the smallest smidge of hope that someone in power somewhere in the USA is collecting some damning evidence in the background.
Crazy? I get it. Really just an emotional person trying to convince themselves there is someone looking into it on the basis of odd and/or suspicious.
Honestly, for the most part, I think the videos and talking heads are a symptom of an even bigger issue. The inability to read long form text, comprehend it, and reflect on the text in a logical manner. They want these videos breaking it down for them, and they want those talking heads telling them what to believe. Why? Because reading is “hard”.
On the flip side, they LOVE to read all up on their fave bands, their fave celebrity, fave movie, fave game, or any drama on their little social app. So, they can read of course. Only when it is over something that doesn’t really matter in the long run, or drivel meant to ruin their perception.
Same people who will sit there and read the entire lore of Dark Souls/Elden Right, but can’t even read a website hosted by one of the running candidates that explicitly goes into details of what their platform is.
Hmm…
I think once we start seeing people being dragged out into the streets, put into camps, or whatever crazy shit they plan on doing, that will be the time to make this kind of decision. Right now, there may be some kind of response that we can take that might help. It’s a toss up right now, but just know, your life is valuable, and to not doing anything drastic until the first signs of the regime come into light.
For what it’s worth to you, I do have a last ditch plan for myself if I truly do see this death march in action, but I will not enact it unless it is truly the last option I have.
I agree. If there really are that much less votes this year, and everything is clear as can be, then I concede my theory. It just seems so… strange? Like, he was literally sitting there claiming fraud, and then…? Nothing…? Just stopped peddling it, and won? Like, he got real confident, real quick…
So, I might get put on a list for this, but so be it.
Does no one else here feel like a little bit of fuckery has happened in the election process?
It’s like overnight everyone has forgotten about all those ballot boxes that were burned, multiple cases of ballot box interference (1,2), and the fact that Trump and his ilk are always projecting, which means that when he says a state or someone is cheating, it very well could mean that he and his cronies are up to no good. What about those bomb threats?
Now, with all of that being said, I do NOT want to come off as the same of the likes of a Trump supporter. I do not want you all to look at me like I am trying to cause distrust in the system. I do trust the system (as much as I can of course), so let it be said here and now, I am not saying this as a matter of fact.
These points, and the very quick and almost instant next day results, have made me very much question the LANDSLIDE that Trump had this year. Voter turn out was at an all time high, and I know that doesn’t mean a lot, but everything combined makes me a little inquisitive to the nature of the results. We know that Russian interference happened in 2016. We know about Russian interference in the 2020 election. We also expected, and are sure of, interference in this election of 2024. That’s not even counting all the billionaires and millionaires having private little meetings about how they can push the scales to their favor, Trump and Musk talking to Putin in private, and I’m sure there are plenty more that we can all find easily verifiable facts on.
I guess what I’m trying to say, is that something felt more off about this election, than the past three, to me at least.
Am I just being silly? Can someone help me here?
You may know already, but you should try VSCodium. At least they took the Micro$hit telemetry out!
