I mean, how else would you design a screen with computer inside. Nowadays most smart TVs are the same but with weaker boards.

I loved the commercial of the guy head booping and the computer did the same moves then he would stick his tongue out and the dvd tray would pop out!

Which leads me to my real gripe with the slide to answer and button positions. If you swipe as a reflex but it’s button displayed you actually end the call by mistake.

This should be top comment. LegacyPatcher will keep that machine running and stay current.

I want:

• better software (Macs don’t crash used to be the argument… back in the days.)
• repairability, sustainability and uniformity of hardware.
• open sourcing or at least opening platform. Enough with AppStore monopoly, enough with apps that take your data without you knowing. Allow people to see your code, prove us you’re not sucking up our data for money.
• Don’t Be Evil.

PiHole on a Raspberry Pi

Everyone recommend HomeAssistant and it’s great. An alternative that’s easier to implement if you’re using Apple HomeKit (on HomePod or Apple TV) is HomeBridge. It’s super easy to setup and becomes a bridge to make anything compatible HomeKit.

Can someone ELI5 this to me?

I wish there was a 2D printing community like for 3D printing where you could build your own printer and run it off a Raspberry pi.

I like my canon with the megatank. No more cartridges. You can buy cheap 3rd party inks and refill when needed. It’s not open source but the drivers aren’t invasive. It has wifi but I didn’t set it up and just use usb.

I ditched the cartridge crap for an eco tank and it’s great. You can even buy off brand Ink bottle for super cheap.
