  • Skimming through this post, people actually believe in IQ?

IQ is not a good measurement of intelligence. It is at best one single measurement of pattern recognition, and it is not set in stone either, as you can get better or worse at it.

There’s multiple types of intelligence it doesn’t measure and honestly, I don’t believe anyone should take it serious.

  • It was the fucking people in China making the comparison! Come on. You keep ignoring this in order to just say westerners are evil.

Ignoring? I literally addressed that in my previous comment. I’m not gonna repeat myself. And I’m not saying westerners are evil. As much as I hate using these moral terms like good, bad and evil, if I were to use it it would be to say that the west is evil, not the westerners.

Clean, meaning morally, no he isn’t. Kind, not so much. He presents as if he’s a perfect story book character, like Pooh Bear (hence the comparison), but he wouldn’t still be in power if this were the case.

Yeah yeah, keep changing the meaning of words to only fit how you see it on your head. And really? He’s still in power because he presents himself as “clean and kind”? Like, really? First you say he’s a dictator, now he’s only still in power because se presents himself well. Which one is it? And that aside, do you really believe he’s only in power because he presents himself well? Like, really?

The people in China recognize this, which is why they started the comparison. It spread to the west because of the outsized response to it.

A single meme is not representative of the will of the Chinese people. By this logic I can say the USians are nazi because of how much Pepe exploded in popularity. It’s beyond silly.

It was funny how insulted he was by this that it started being banned, so it spread because his fragile ego couldn’t handle it.

First of all, Winnie the Pooh was never banned in China, it is still a very popular character there.

Second of all, you lack understanding of how Chinese society works. China, and some other asian countries do not simply speak ill of their leaders and representatives. It’s a cultural thing. Which is not to say that they don’t criticize them, they do, but it is completely different than the rest of the world.

And finally third, if people started representing Obama with the image of a gorilla, let’s say, from Tarzan. Wouldn’t that be racist? Wouldn’t that be censored and ban worth in most places? So stop with the double standard bullshit. Just realize you’re racist against asians and do some introspection.

For everything else you said I already have replied previously.

You’re incredibly unserious and I’m not losing my time engaging with you any further.

  • Prove it? Sure. It’s a system where the singular ruling party controls elections and all candidates must be approved by them. If that’s not a dictatorship then I’ve never heard of one.

A single party system is not inherently undemocratic, we communists believe in democratic centralism. The CPC is the dominant party in China, but there are multiple other parties in the country.

You can argue it provides utility or stability or something if you want, but arguing it isn’t a dictatorship shows how ignorant you are. Of course it’s exactly what I’d expect though.

No, it shows how ignorant YOU are, since you clearly don’t even understand how different political systems can be democratic. Your vision of democracy is limited and is easily dismantled by showing how in the US, for example, you have basically a two-party system that at the end of the day serves the same purpose, to continue to impose the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie upon the working class, or how you libs call it, “western democracy”. Your lack of class analysis in China’s system fails to account for how the CPC represents the proletariat instead of the bourgeoisie and how that completely changes the inner functions of said country and society.

I don’t know how the west doing anything bad is relevant to this conversation. It was never part of the discussion and is purely a red-herring to distract from your bad faith argument.

You can’t be serious, right? You can’t simply point fingers at a country with a bunch of false claims and not expect a direct comparison with how the rest of the world does stuff to dismantle the argument. The implication in this discussion is that China and the CPC is a bad evil dictatorship that oppresses people and curbs their freedom of speech. By pointing out how the west does things I’m providing a counter argument of the false claims. You can’t simply claim a bunch of stuff in a vacuum without directly comparing with how the it in the rest of the world, it’s disingenuous. Do you not understand how arguments work?

Also, once again, the Pooh Bear thing is from China. It isn’t racist. It has nothing to do with race. Prove it is, since you’re asking for proof of basic stuff we all know.

Oh stop playing dumb. You know very well that it is racist to associate a Chinese person with a yellow character. Also, it doesn’t matter where it comes from. Pepe and the Ok sign didn’t start as hate symbols, both were turned into one. If you can’t see how westerners constantly calling and depicting Xi Jinping as Pooh isn’t racist, then you’re the racist.

It’s making fun of him being fat and the way he presents himself as clean and kind.

Oh so according to you it’s not racist, it’s just fatphobic AND racist since by saying he “presents clean and kind” you’re implying he is neither of those things. Definitely not racist to imply that a Chinese person is unclean and unkind. Fuck off.

  • Criticizing or making fun of a nations leader is not racist. In fact, the comparison originates from China.

Then go ahead, actually criticize Xi instead of associating him with a yellow bear, which is definitely not racist, no no no, not racist at all.

You’ll just go back to your echo chamber where anything critical of dictators is bad and must come from the west. They’ll probably agree with you, despite it being incredibly easy to learn more.

LMAO, then fucking prove China is a “dictatorship”. You libs keep repeating the same “China bad”, EBIL SEESEEPEE with zero self awareness of how the west is actually looting, underdeveloping and actively destroying the rest of the world.

  • I totally get your frustration. Any leftist person, group or organization that ostracize people for being a little bit better materially than other people is completely wrong and shouldn’t be taken seriously. The tech field is full of techbro ancaps, having a leftists there is already a step forward. We can’t just confine ourselves to a few spaces and gatekeep who can and who cannot be a part of it.

It’s like you said, you’re orders of magnitude closer to the homeless than to the rich. You are not the enemy, and even if you were, you’re still a leftist and any help is welcomed.

That all being said, I don’t think it’s right to say that this is the reason the left will always lose. First because the left is not an unified mass that thinks the same. There’s a lot of different leftist ideologies and they all clash in some way of another, be it for a disagreement in how to organize or in how to achieve communism. And second, because this type of thing tends to be something you would see more on the imperial core where actual leftist thinking have been thwarted and made into a boogeyman, I don’t know where you’re from, but I honestly suggest you try looking for Marxist-Leninist groups and organizations.

  • Right now, my phone’s front camera is busted since 1 and a 1/2 to 2 years now.

But in the past, usually issues with my PC. First was the CPU or my motherboard, I still don’t know which one was the problem, but it would freeze and I needed to hard reset. Ended up changing both, so the issue went away.

Then it was my GPU, it would crash frequently on some titles and had heavy stuttering. It would downclock extremely for a brief moment all the time, but only when at 99% usage. I had to hard reset all the time too, had to RMA it twice before the issue was fixed.

And lastly it was my SSD. I still have this 1TB nvme, where again it would just freeze and require a hard reset. I knew it was the SSD because there was some indication on the logs of my system. I ended up buying another one, but I should still RMA the old one because I think it’s still under warranty, just need to check it.

  • Gachas and lootboxes are addictive and money grubbing. You cannot do much about them. Casinos, gambling and lootboxes have existed for thousands of years, with not just capital but objects, kingdoms and even people used as bets. Now in modern world its just some currency bills as bets.

I get what you’re saying, but there’s a difference between me gambling 50 currency with my friends on who is gonna win X match and a full blown casino or videogame that uses every psychological tactic possible to manipulate me into spending more and more money at every turn. One is a social interaction between people, the other is an exploitative tactic to make you spend. You can a 100% allow one and ban the other.

I have a principle set in stone as a belief and basis for all things in life and beyond, Pareto’s principle. I think morality, communism/altruism and all these things are also not 100% applicable, but only 80% (or 85, 90% whatever). So we will always be stuck with that 10-20% of capitalism, for example. And beyond that is diminishing returns. It is better to accept that, and work towards efficiency and optimal results.

I don’t want in any shape, way or form to disrespect what you believe and since you said it’s set on stone I have no intent on changing it whatsover, but I think a more materialist approach could help here.

The DPRK exists and it is full on socialist. Sure it isn’t communist yet, and won’t be until the rest of the world becomes socialist, but there’s nothing to suggest we can’t fully achieve it.

  • Again, I agree and I’m aware of the stuff you talk in the first paragraph. I’m from Lemmygrad, I defend China as an AES country.

Now for the second paragraph, I’m not trying to blame China for gacha, I’m just pointing it out as an issue that also exists there. That comes with their acceptance of capital, and is something they can be criticized for. My criticism is not to belittle them, but because I believe they can do better.

There was recent news of China clamping down on lootboxes and predatory monetization in gaming, which would be great and would set a precedent for the rest of the world, but last I saw they walked back on it.

I don’t play Genshin, I only used it as an example, but I play League Of Legends, which is owned by Riot Games that is owned by Tencent and recently there has been the inclusion of gacha mechanics for skins that heavily relies on fomo for people to spend money on, and it’s really expensive. Meanwhile Riot also just fired 530 people worldwide and killed multiple projects and iniciatives inside the company, while starving other projects too. This is a billion dollar worth company owned by Tencent, and it all deserves criticism like any other games and companies.
