It might have been fixed in most modern DE’s right now - I’m not sure about the current state. But it used to be the problem…don’t ask how I know…

Yeah, those three seconds were probably just to the kernel cache - on the contrary - most linux desktops has the unfortunate design decision that they showed the source to kernel cache progress instead of source to dest. I hope you tried to safely eject the drive before removing it and waiting the rest of the hour for that.
sometimes it’s called bag of words
I don’t know. I do understand the preference of quality over quantity, but there is a limit. There’s a difference between reddit anime discussion, where each episode discussion has hundreds of diverse opinions - most being shitty - sure, but while the voting system is flawed, the interesting comments do tend to rise. and between lemmy’s anime discussions, where an episode has…let me check: between 0 to two comments: https://lemmy.world/c/anime or https://ani.social/c/anime. That is really sad. Not to mention that reddit has so much niche subreddits
Yeah, some sites in the Czech Republic do it too, unfortunately. IANAL, so I don’t know if that’s illegal under GDPR, but I hope it is illegal and their luck runs out.
That’s just regular deflation.
“shrinkflation” was a term which tried top capture the size instead of price. But if you want to stay within the price semantics, then your good old deflation, stagflation, inflation will do just fine.
honestly? Id pay for it
rust mentioned, lets goo
He’s talking about principal shooting, you about production of the whole film.
Honestly, I’m kinda looking forward to the IPO - because it might be the last enshittification straw that breaks the camel’s neck that will finally drown reddit for what it has become.
It’s not that expensive to buy a premium static IP from ISPs. It’s like 10% on top of a usual monthly rate, so not a terribly expensive one.
watch it you lazy mongrel
EU and I most definitely can (that may not be surprising). But funnily enough, I bought my first car a few months ago (I drove family cars only before - all manuals) and that one is the volume knob automat. I wanted to stick with manual (pun intended), but my fiancee convinced me and I have to agree that there’s a certain comfort in automat.
I have to be honest - its a foss software, so make use of the fact that its a foss.
why did you feel the need to highlight they were women? It feels like you’re implying women are worse at programming, devaluing their effort.
I would be cautiously optimistic. If they are public, the the top tier entity is the shareholders which usually don’t look further then their dividends and so public company usually focuses on short term growth. Public company doesn’t need to bend backwards towards committee of millions of shareholders and can focus on long term as it wants and deems fit, usually preferring long term investment. Of course it can go the other way too. When they are not responsible to shareholders, theres a possibility that the it gets squeezed end enshitified waaaay faster.
Thie essentially boikls down to “quote yur shit”. Yes, it can be frustrating if a language superficially allows you to use unqoted strings with the promise that it will inteligently interprets that. It’s like parentheses in arithmetics. If you are not sure or if you are not competent in a language enough to predict the order of operations, use parentheses. The same with strings and quotes in yaml.
Meh, at that point, you may as well use python.
I love osmand, I even subscribed for the pro version, but I still miss live traffic :(
Ahh - the joys of monorepo.
