Great story, but the writing was exceedingly dull, apart from the first chapter. I even tried getting through it via audiobook and still only made it halfway through. It’s just a chore.

There are some local and state governments trying to pass automatic voter registration, but it’s an uphill battle, not unlike most things that would generally benefit the public good in this country.

Not a Texan, but here in Missouri, you can request your absentee ballot as early as 9/24 this year.

I requested mine, waited two weeks, and it never arrived. So last week I requested another, and I’m waiting for it. I do think there’s some fuckery afoot with the mail, so I’m probably going to be stuck voting absentee in-person at my local election board.

Oddly enough, the reason why I did the repair myself was that the shop quoted me $400, haha. It’s nice to live in a world where you can fix your own stuff, something that Apple also does their best to prevent.

Apple builds obsolescence into their products on purpose.

If you’d bought a PC, a faulty screen would be easily replaceable. I had to replace my laptop screen myself several years ago, and with a $60 part and ten minutes on youtube, it was an easy repair.

I canceled my Prime membership earlier this year because of that decline in quality. I wish everyone could, but thanks to the loss of retail throughout the country many can’t afford not to have it.

However, according to the article, it’s been around six months now and is having a positive effect.

Realistically, with the robot having been around now almost six months, I’m more willing to consider that the locals have noticed a difference in their experience going shopping. That’s more than enough time to notice the kind of changes the locals appear to have experienced since they stopped relying on the police.

If I didn’t have friends who need so much financial help, I’d buy it too.
