Ferris@discuss.onlineto Android@lemmy.world•Currently developing an Android app to sync subscriptions and saved posts between accountsEnglish1·2 years agoI think Tasker uses the option to ‘draw on top of other apps’ in order to maintain control of things. I think Poweramp uses some fancy notification settings (persistent, invisible?) to do the same. Poweramp is very good at retaining the ability to resume audio playback on device connect, independent of whether it was the last audio application playing audio. Tasker, I haven’t used properly yet, but was interested in automating button functionality with it.
Another note: it might be neat to have a ‘sync all account settings’ option : )

Tommy Tuberville doubles down after blocking hundreds of military promotions: 'I don't care if they promote anybody'English21·2 years agoI cant help but to have noticed a lot of places on Lemmy where autocorrect has clearly gone wrong. We need a phone keyboard that produces options and a squiggly when it wants to correct something, maybe. I turned off my autocorrect for that reason, which raises its own set of problems lol.
no offense intended, of course <3

I just updated LULs, the script that changes all Lemmy links everywhere to your home instance!English2·2 years agoI don’t know if it’s intended behavior, but the ‘context’ button when viewing responses to your posts does not change to your home instance. I was trying to understand how to work around that yesterday. It appears the title link works, but now I’m not certain whether it’s because of the script.
Ferris@discuss.onlineto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Every generation has some product/ingredient that they didn’t know was dangerous at the time: tobacco, lead, asbestos, etc. What is that item for this generation?English2·2 years agoThis mystery can be resolved by googling ‘ld50 caffeine.’ ~750mg is toxic and 10,000mg can kill people
The median lethal dose (LD50) of caffeine is estimated between 150 to 200 mg per kilogram but reports of lethal intoxications have been made with doses as low as 57 mg per kilogram. Personally, 300mg is pretty much as far as I want to go.

something about the way it [chrome] handles memory isolation means i get fewer blue screens at work with all my bloated browser tools loaded at the same time. I have to have ~15 tabs open. It is not my laptop, so I cant go around experimenting with plugins much.
then again who gives a flying fart if chrome tracks me while i use the same internal browser tools day in and day out?
