I just know I’m gonna get raked, but try Lazarus. A Delphi clone using the FreePascal compiler. Has a framework similar to the VCL, but has pluggable backends. Qt, GTK, Windows, Cocoa, and a native one, though I’m not sure of its maturity. Component programming that is relatively easy to extend.

Whether a Thinkpad has soldered RAM or not is model-by-model thing. When I was laptop shopping I tried to stick to the only non-soldered ones, but they are definitely more expensive, as they are the higher-end models. I absolutely cannot wait for CAMM to, if it ever does, become a normal thing for RAM modules.

Actually, I blamed American voters for selling out over a lack of integrity.
I despise Trump for just about everything, and my opinion goes back to the ‘80s. This is gonna piss a lot of people off, but Bill Clinton has a lot to do with this shitshow. While Ken Starr was an absolute tool for trying to get him for anything, Clinton getting up in front of everyone and committing perjury with zero remorse and then getting reelected anyway, showed that America (or at least the voters) has degenerated way too far from moral integrity (history of slavery notwithstanding).
Politicians lie. That’s a given. No way you reward them for their behavior.
Ah, but do you follow the rules as well? Ride with traffic? Give hand signals for turns?
Not picking on you, but as a truck driver, I see far too many people riding against traffic, all over the middle of the road, and generally creating their own demise.
