Real life is stranger than fiction man. I’ve never seen anything this crazy in any dystopian novels I’ve read.
I’ll do this later…

It requires a massive investment in research and development of advanced aerodynamics, material science, supply chain, skilled mechanics, etc. You just don’t pop out a plane from a group of engineers like we did during WW1. Creating a fighter jet that is capable enough to defend against today’s adversaries will require a couple decades of investment to start from scratch. And yes I know you probably think that we can just use the knowledge already available from previous fighter jet programs like older American jets but even if they had de-classified designs they still don’t have the supply chain and technical experts to pull it off in a few years.

I’m surprised they deported white people

We’re about to get that subscription model! Probably gonna be Adobe flavored. Steam Machine launching just in time.

It doesn’t need to have anything to do with SSDs. The point is there is a hardware shortage of something that most computers have and laptop manufactures can use that as an excuse to raise prices. Also just because most laptops come with M.2 SSDs doesn’t mean all of them would. There may be some that use 2.5" HDDs.
EDIT: After looking through the article this also affects SSDs.
That means if a firm wants to buy large-capacity hard drives, the backbone of nearline storage, it has to wait 24 months due to long lead times. As the news cycle suggests, AI money doesn’t wait for anyone, so hyperscalers are now switching to QLC NAND-based SSDs to avoid these backorders. Picking QLC over TLC allows them to maintain costs while achieving sufficient endurance for cold storage.
However, hoarding QLC NAND creates its own shortage, since every cloud provider in North America and China is now lining up to buy it. This could lead to SSD prices rising worldwide, as most value-oriented models use QLC to save costs. In fact, DigiTimes claims that production capacity for QLC is completely booked through 2026 at some NAND manufacturers.

OP is upgrading FROM 12 yr old hardware during a time where hardware prices prices are rising due to a shortage of some components because AI data centers are demanding them.

I picture the phone doing it the way it was done in The Dark Knight. That scene when Lucius Fox was in China and had to volunteer a phone to security.

Is that vehicle in Africa at a cheap price?

HiDive. Until they get the fuckaround bug.

These mutherfuckers forgot where they came from! Time to remind them

If the entire country wants to enact policies and cultures that would lead to their disappearance then who are we to tell them otherwise?

MAGA hates Disney because of their current movies perceived “wokeness” so the big brained executives decided to piss of the Left as well by attacking the 1st Amendment and bowing down to the Right. Big brain move there.
I disagree. The weakest point in any and all organizations are the people who work for them. You can have the best IT infrastructure all you want but you cannot escape human error because we are not perfect and, by extension, anything we create is not perfect. Everyone will get hacked, don’t ever think you’re too perfect or you’re in so much control that you are immune.

I never even thought about data smuggling. China isn’t allowed to buy Nvidia GPUs? Ok then China will have someone maintain the Nvidia servers in another country and remote into it to run their AI models.
No one is safe from hackers. Everyone and every company will get hacked, it’s unavailable. What matters is how they react to the inevitable because that’s how best practices are made.
I don’t think you understand what they want. I use Calc and Excel and would rather work in Excel because of the features like creating tables. I manipulate data all the time and creating tables from that data makes manipulating it very easy since I can sort and filter it. I can also use the tables I created in other sheets for things like lookups. It’s pretty hard to do that in Calc. But if you want a better idea of the features that Calc should adopt then take the Google Professional certification on Data Analytics if you have the time to skim through it quickly to avoid paying.

Racism and indoctrination are two results I can think of from this. I cannot think of any examples of good outcomes when the state systematically takes children from their parents.

They used to have nukes. But the Russia way back when promised not to invade if they gave up their nukes. Well they did and…
Well at least they’re being honest about the future of Microsoft.
