Cowardly tactics
Yesterday I honestly had the bot flip and flop on an answer while deeply apologising and everytime saying “now you can actually trust, I checked and rechecked and now it’s definitely correct”.
Like a simple question with two choices.
It didn’t know the answer so then it prompted to choose from two answers. One which confidently said one thing and one which confidently said the other. I called it out on making me choose the answer to a question I asked. Then it decided itself. I then questioned it. It changed it mind. And around and around we went for like 20 minutes, everytime it swearing this time it isn’t hallucinating.
They suck so bad for most things, but they’re useful for some very niche things, but even for those, they still sort of suck at those as well a not non-significant. They’re definitely shouldn’t be used for official shit, but they very much are.
So hiding the fact they use Palantir, not hiding their work by using it?
(The title is ambiguous)
Thus suffers from the same problem “Adolescence” did; the writing and role is believable enough and the actor looks like they could be as despicable… but then you somehow don’t believe the actor to be that big of a cunt.
Joffrey doesn’t suffer from that, Jack Gleeson is such a brilliant actor I never doubted he could be such a massive cunt. But I know he isn’t. But he made me believe it.
Like Eddie and the kid in Adolescence both have too much humanity showing through.
Now that you mention, yeah, he does.
Oh I never knew that had a name.
I love doing that to pathological narcissists, whenever safe.
At some point even he has to realize that he’s a joke right?
Like even his syphillitic brain can’t not see what’s right in front of him forever, can it?
Is he really this fucking stupid?
To disregard their existence is to pretend they don’t matter at all, which is incredibly naive.
There’s no perfect compliance, no, but if they weren’t respected at all and had no effect, the situations would be different.
For instance yeah, Russia has apparently brought out WWI style choking agents and used them. But there’s no widespread use at least, and no mustard gas. Which would be more effective for Russia to do. But they don’t, as they want to keep plausible deniability so that Europe doesn’t gain an actual reason to mount an offensive.
So yeah, while you are right in that psychotic asshats don’t care about them, they are affected by them nonetheless.
Basically ROE says that medics shouldn’t be shot, but my brother trained as a medic and one of the first things they’ve we’re unofficially taught was to hide their crosses on the battlefield, as Russians would literally aim at medics. (Finnish army.)
Mmm, not really.
You can’t just slaughter civilians willy nilly. Well, you can, obviously, as shown by what’s going on in the world, but international laws say you shouldn’t.
Iran could legally intern any Americans, but civilians wouldn’t still be POW’s. And should technically have rights and whatnot.
What would you, specifically, find to be a tolerable amount of ads?
Compared to other systems, seems like it’s pretty high.
Universal basic income would discourage crimes like that.
If I had to get a car in SF, I think I’d go for a small hatchback so you can see into the trunk, if it’s that bad.
The lockers usually have surveillance around them.
So you’d go there, open up an empty box and it would be incredibly easy to show who stole it. Plus even if there wasn’t surveillance, you could film yourself opening the slot, which would then show an empty slot.
So yeah, it does make a difference. The package is never left unattended, it’s never “up for grabs” by anyone.
That being said thieving and whatnot is comparatively rare in Finland anyway. We’re #1 in the wallet drop test. https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/least-honest-cities
super rare occasion
The problem is so ubiquitous , they’re commonly known as “porch pirates”.
“~Two million packages go missing every day, 90 000 in New York alone”
And the video is five years old.
other American was right, they’re really not as common a
He most certainly wasn’t.
He was practically denying that it ever happened, when it’s common as pickpocketing. Meaning more common in some places, less so in others, but definitely a known and existing issue.
Oh yeah, they’re exceedingly common here.
Usually placed inside commercial buildings like stores etc, there are a few just outside as well. They’re quite thin metal so I assume in some places in the US someone would just take a crowbar to a whole station, but if it’s inside a building that’s gonna be much harder.
Here you’ll need to have an ID or at least a driving licence (which isn’t technically an official ID, but is accepted as such in most places outside banks and whatnot) to go and pick up your shit.
Well, not anymore, as lots of them go to the automats and then you just require the PIN.
And depending on what sort of package you’re getting in the mail, you can sometimes give your package id to a friend who can pick it up, but they’ll need an ID of their own as well so it’ll get registered who picked up the parcel.
The US is a lot vaster but one still imagines people wouldn’t mind picking up packages from the nearest grocery store they use, if it meant that their shit can’t be stolen?
I mean I only need it to be there.
I genuinely don’t even know which part of a pizza you wouldn’t trust. Is it like the restaurant or the driver or your neighbours? What are they gonna do aside from swiping your pizza?
It’s genuinely just business.
Legalise all drugs and this all goes away.
There’s no Al Pacino’s shooting up the streets since the prohibition was lifted. Weirdly alcohol companies which can rely on the law don’t find a need to take a Thompson to their business opposite’s offices.
Whereas the Sinaloa cartrel does. They can’t just let shit go. You’ve seen drug shows. (There’s genuinely so many it’s annoying.)
