You should read Parahumans:Worm by Wildbow. The best superhero story I have ever read, and it’s completely free! :)
The variety and use cases for all the different powers are especially interesting.
For your lungs: yes. But you don’t get as addicted to it in my experience.

Never. Start. Smoking. I know it’s really obvious advice, but after you smoke cigarettes for the first time, it’s so fucking easy to become a smoker and saying no is infinitely harder. Nicotine is a removed.

I’ve never read the books, although I’d really like to. I only know two things: Its fucking awesome and really, really long and convoluted. Someone told me that getting into it is hard, but there is nothing quite like it and its worth it. I watched the series while drinking beer and hanging out with my father. We both like fantasy, needed something to binge and I heard of the source material. We thought the series (only seen the first season) was pretty cool. Knowing the infamy of the books it was clear that they had to cut vast parts of the books, but for someone uninitiated it was a fun watch. At the same time I already thought it had to be unbearable for fans of the book for the same reason.
Sure, but my point was rather the disappearance of the language. Second language proficiency is high in Germany, but the attitudes regarding the “preservation” of German are insane. For example, there is a specific category for English words imported into German called Anglicisms. Funnily enough words like “cool” are not considered part of this group purely because they are used for such a long time that they are considered German enough (seems like language changes over time? Funny how this works!). Every teenager knows the moment when some boomer criticises them for using non German words.
