Yeah, and Putin is mad right back at him because he’s gonna take over Greenland.

I’m holding out for falling out a window.
It’s going to hit GM and Ford who are set up to build cars in Canada and USA. The cars they make in US rely on a global supply chain. It’s going to fuck every carmaker in the US market. Hyundais and Chevys are going to go up in price 30% overnight with the metal tariffs on top of all that.
They already do. Mississippi water levels can be managed through Lake Michigan via the naval canal.
They’re there, but harder to find. And some are closing. I’ve had two or three in the last couple years that closed, in the reasonably popular world of cars.
That’s the problem isn’t it? We used to have forums where people discus things and blogs where people share what they’ve learned, now it is all Reddit and discord and absolute trash in between.
It has gotten so much better over the years. Which is more testament to how unutterably awful it was at release than how good it is now.
Several years ago I inadvertently (because I didn’t realize who they were) got in a twitter argument with someone who I seem to recall as the creator of electron about how it was fucking embarrassing how bad electron apps are. At the time I kinda felt bad because he seemed like a decent guy and I let loose but I wonder what the carbon footprint of his little side project is…
I think what started the rant was that back at that time, if you scrolled one page back in a chat, it would display a graphic representing a chat while it loaded the chat. And the fucking software was sitting there using a GB of ram and couldn’t keep 5 min of conversation cached. Just inexcusably bad.
I don’t know who at Microsoft had such a hard-on for electron back then, but it seems to have spread and it’s still nowhere close to the good old windows GUI for resource usage.
Thankfully it has gotten better. Slightly. Still pegs my CPU but I think that’s because I have a shit CPU with integrated gfx
It uses a fucking inordinate amount of resources to accomplish its task, mostly.
Not just salary - H1B are also good at following orders, because if they lose their job, they will get deported.
This is exactly it. Instead of focusing on refining and renewing their products, Tesla burned billions on self-driving, while simultaneously hamstringing themselves by removing radar and lidar. That’s before the cybertruck and roadster 2 interfered.
Lucid, from what I can tell, has done this work. Their new motors are the size of a carryon. The interior volume is enormous. That’s what the flagships should be like at Tesla, but they screwed up.
I wonder if it’ll handle e-cores better than Task Manager.
Overall, it’s reporting 20% CPU usage. But all P-cores are pinned at 100%. E-cores idle. Of course I’m not CPU bound, I don’t need a better laptop, don’t be silly! And that’s just a Teams call. Fuck teams.
This sounds a little bit like sovcit noise.
I’ve got pets and just having the hair off the floors on a regular basis without having to spend 20 min a day hauling a vacuum around strikes me as being a nice labor savings. But I haven’t sprung for one yet.
That could - by no means a guarantee - result in vote splitting and worse outcomes.
It’s similar to Putin waxing poetic about Ukraine, to a degree.
Putin is personally immensely wealthy and, additionally he effectively controls the economy of Russia. Trump is neither - his personal assets are dwarfed by half a dozen Americans alone. Plus as @aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world says, he likes the attention and it doesn’t take much to stroke his ego.
And it’s getting harder to find powder. Try finding powder dishwasher detergent… locally, nothing.
I tried for a while to use two 16:9 vertically. Like you say, vertical makes a lot of sense and it works great. But web devs seem universally to assume that if it’s a tall narrow screen, to show the mobile version.
