I mean, we still have INRI on most crosses right? There are plenty of other reasons to be critical of how Christianity was institutionalized and the Bible assembled but the whole letter J thing doesn’t really hold any water.

I like this a lot.

I have no idea why it’s been prioritised for the iOS app store, but either it’s a case of its creator being an iPhone user, or American I guess (I believe iPhone still has a majority market share in the US).

It’s available, but I don’t know about ready. You can register freely, you can download a phone app (through apk) and you can scroll. When I tried it the other week it still failed to deliver any worthwhile content in a quick enough time. I don’t think the recommendation algorithm is good enough (although there also just isn’t a ton of stuff on there in general).
It does also lack a lot of features, I think the biggest one is a built-in editor. Right now every video must be single take and that’s going to be in the way of mass adoption.

That’s super cool. Hopefully this can be a nice boost.

Thunder was still not quite what I was looking for last time I tried it. I am very happy with Summit now, personally.

This is longer than he’s ever been MIA for before, this time I think it’s about 2 years since the last update, and there are several literally critical bugs. But this is the downside with absentee developers like that, you never know for sure whether it’s abandonware or not. But he seems to be actively working on other stuff still so I just don’t think Lemmy took off enough in popularity for him to feel like it’s worth his time monetarily. Makes sense if this was always more of a business than a passion project, which is the way it appears to be to me.

I love Sync but be aware that it is no longer being actively developed. It has some bugs that will never be fixed, and might break entirely in the future.
They saw the porn was gone and decided “nah, fuck it”.

They are. NSFW filters often also filter out stuff like the ICE shootings, for example.

It’s got a lot of really thoughtful little touches. Great differentiation between 8(eight) and B(uppercase b) too for example. And lower case g q p all easy to distinguish. It really makes reading easier.

Atkinson Hyperlegible is such a good font. I don’t care that it breaks style guides or whatever with the mixed serifs, it’s so nice and easy to read.

Pokémon Uranium is supposed to be good, I think.

I was about to bring that one up! That’s a great one and the ultimate “best of both worlds” edition for FF 6 imo. Keeps some important Woolsey character while improving the script. I also think this is the best translation of the Opera scene (it’s based on the GBA version I think).

Have tried most of them and none feel as good as Summit.

Right now he is essentially an untouchable king according to the supreme court, so the only way I see him getting tried for anything is if he happens to die while still in office but before he gets the chance to pardon himself, and the trial goes ahead posthumously.

If you’re specifically looking for gaming then there are two gaming-focused distros to look at: Bazzite and CachyOS. Former is based on Fedora and latter on Arch, if that makes any difference to you. I’ve heard good things about both.
Do note that Linux doesn’t support kernel-level anti cheat of any kind, so if you want to play any multiplayer games that require this you categorically cannot use Linux, unfortunately.
I mean Loops has a For You page, but the algorithm seems much worse than TikTok (unsurprisingly). Partly I’m sure simply because there is so much less content to pull from, so it might seem worse than it is purely because there might not actually be anything worthwhile on it to recommend to you in the first place. But TikTok’s algorithm is famously extremely good at identifying things you would like, even things you might not know you would like yourself. To be able to be an alternative in the brainrot delivery market, Loops needs to be able to come at least closer.
PipePipe is a fork of NewPipe, with more and better features (like built in SponsorBlock). I was watching videos on it just an hour ago.
Most Wanted 2005 is an all-timer.
