Give it time. You get used to it. Eventually, you will probably type more accurately than you did before. A qwerty or any full keyboard like that does not belong on a small screen. :-)

Most phone manufactures create their own version of Android. Usually they are pretty full of useless junk and a ton of UI changes. By saying “mostly Android” you’re urually saying “mostly [original] Android”.
Glad its still working. I’ve been using Island for a while now. Maybe it is because I used Shelter for a long time but I like it better. I’m going to switch back if its still working :–)
You won’t need that for Shelter. It hasn’t been updated in years.
It is called OSMAnd~ on F-Droid. It does not have support for AndroidAuto. I ended up buying the licensed version for that and to support the devs.
For online and offline GPS I love OSMAnd+ since it has AndroidAuto support and tons of other features.

Partly joking, partly serious :)
@bionicspud, I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing for the same reasons. How much storage does your instance use? I haven’t looked in to how asset caching works yet. It seems like it could easily get out of hand.
The downloads list suddenly won’t load anymore. I was going to get the last version before they added the notice to get pro.
