I the thing that upset me the most was that my phone was packed with an amazing array of sensors, and most of them are blocked from the user accessing. I got an app that gives me sensor data output. It really turns your phone from a device into a tool.

Longtime computer “nerd” here. 8 years ago I would have balked about spending more on a cellphone than my gaming PC, but I end up using my phone more hours per day than my desktop so I bit the bullet and bought a nice phone. Now my PC is basically a dedicated entertainment device, and my phone is my go-to for email, chat, music, videos, reading, documents, and even some work.

If I wasn’t an avid gamer, I probably wouldn’t have a desktop or laptop at all right now.

And I will be switching to Linux this year, mainly because of Windows 11 and the general direction the Microsoft is going. I’ve got a laptop to test with and when I have the hang of it, the big battle station is getting switched too.

Seems a little early for it.

Let them wear masks. It’s an important piece of safety equipment in some scenarios. Lets mandate that undercover/plain clothes officers cannot enforce the law beyond what a civilian could do. They should not be allowed to arrest you, or point a gun at you, or demand that you ID yourself. Only officers in uniform should be allowed to do those things, and they should be required to identify themselves, the department they work for, and display a badge with number to be considered “in uniform”.

Watch the RichRebuilds review of Chinese EVs. There is a lot of “make it look good” in their engineering, like massive painted brake calipers…that are a single piston. The cars probably aren’t as quality as other EVs, but the prices, specs, and niche features are very compelling. I’d definitely consider one in the US. Anything that isn’t a Tesla or a massive crossover would be great.

You understand that in a two party system, these two statements are basically incompatible?

Especially when you consider that we have early voting starting a month before the election, along with mail-in voting being available in nearly every state. If you didn’t vote, it’s because you didn’t want to vote, not because you couldn’t vote. Yes, some degree of civic participation is expected, welcome to being an adult.

Someone commented just a few days ago that voting blue in OK was pointless. I brought up some stats that if every one of the non-voters in OK had voted in the last election, Kamala could have carried the state with 200k people to spare.
