The misuse of AGAB language to exclude trans women from women-only spaces is just transphobia dressed up in “woke” language. “Assigned <gender> At Birth” is a verb. It is something that happened to trans people coercively. It is very frustrating to see cis people weaponize this term that they don’t understand to just do slightly different sounding transphobia. If a space is women only but excludes trans women, then it’s just an admission that the group does not see trans women as “real” women. If a women only space wants to exclude all nonbinary people for whatever reason, that’s fine, but this “AFAB-only” schtick is very transparent and it would be refreshing if those groups would just be honest about their transphobia instead of playing this silly language game that they pretend is still inclusive.

Because for people in the imperial core, AI slop invading every part of the internet and making it viscerally worse is more visible and tangible than imperialism destroying lives and the environment (mostly) abroad.

If you’re getting a laptop with a graphics card, make sure you go with something by AMD. Nvidia cards will work fine enough, though for a whole host of different reasons, AMD is generally preferred for Linux.

If you’re ever forced to use windows for whatever reason, your college should have computers in a library or something that you could use. As far as office software compatibility goes, the office documents themselves are likely to show up with formatting errors if opened in another office suite, but there’s no such issue if you export to PDF though, so I always did my work in LibreOffice and then turned in a PDF and there were never any issues. For group work, I always found it easier to just use one of the browser-based office suites for file compatibility or for working on the same document together.

It’s unfortunately only developed for the Pixel series of phones, but I’ve been using my banking apps on GrapheneOS with no issues.
