Dems should have just used more charts that show how actually you’re not paying more for groceries and making less money adjusted for inflation.

They also should have just had Kamala drop out and replaced her with Liz Cheney, that would have gotten the moderate vote.

“The big we” isn’t some amorphous blob online or something organized by some national group. It’s your trusted friends, family, and neighbors.

Decentralized groups of people just trying to help each other out is how we rise out disasters when there is no help coming. Whether that disaster is natural or man-made. It doesn’t really matter whether or not you believe it, it’s empirically evident.

The resistance is out your front door. Touch grass. Get involved in local mutual aid groups, find the people doing good things in your community and help them.

We’re semi-rural (multi acre lots often with houses set almost at the back of lots), this was my first Halloween out here, I was following the kids with a car cause it was cold and snowy. Honestly it’s baffling. They wouldn’t have even had to actually do anything. They could have just let a Palestinian-American come up and say generic “we have to do better for the people of Gaza and the people of the world” type of shit and they would have even said that they endorsed Kamala. That’s it, and a shitload of people would have been at least able to lie to themselves and say “ok, she’ll do something different.” But they couldn’t even be asked to go through the motions this time.

I used to call myself a “left libertarian” but to be frank, after learning more I’ve found that “anarchist” fits far better. And there’s a lot of interesting content out there that I enjoy. I’m not sure who all .world has defederated, but the solar punk instance is always great, our mods are great (Midwest social), some people may find them abrasive, but those are people who maybe don’t understand that when you play in someone else’s home, you play by their rules.

Also: blahaj, beehaw, and even hexbear is usually entertaining, even if I have some disagreements with them.

The point is, there’s a lot out there, depending on who you’re federating with.
