My city had the absolute worst one. Some bigoted pieces of shit ran a transphobic one around a pediatric hospital that has a clinic for trans youth.
I was strongly tempted to lose a box of roofing nails off the back of my bike.

I think as it is now leftism is an intellectual position, but historically I don’t think that’s always been true, when leftist movements saw more broad popular appeal like during labor organizing there were definitely dumb leftists.
The reason it’s in Republicans best interest to keep people stupid is that stupid people are much easier to propagandize to. Analyzing the information you’re receiving helps make you less likely to fall for blatant lies. (Leftists know we need better propaganda, but it’s also deeply cynical to think we need it.)

Yeah I lived in a small town for a while too. My friend worked as a PCA taking care of disabled adults in a care home. When he came out as trans, he got death threats and hit by cars multiple times while biking - and as someone who was stealth and also biked, those were absolutely murder attempts.
Also most small towns in the US have meth problems. It’s easier to ignore, but it’s still rampant.
Fuck your small town full of bigoted assholes and meth.

Some things have changed, it used to be fueled by cocaine and hopium.

Someone tell Metro Transit. They make changes to my local bus route every few weeks and it’s annoying.

U2 was a test run.

Texas and Florida haven’t banned it yet.

I’m in the Twin Cities, I’m guessing the person you’re responding to is in a first or second ring suburb (and I’m not dismissing their experience for that - ICE never left Minnesota, they’re just operating in the suburbs now where it’s harder to build a response against them so they’re seeing some shit right now), but concealed carry permit requests are way up right now in the twin cities proper. People here are buying guns in response to the gestapo. I don’t know anyone personally who has purchased a firearm, but I’ve seen the local news articles about the phenomenon.

Planning on it lol. Was just mildly annoyed because I needed a product I have to order through their website anyway and I’ll probably need to get a month supply somewhere else to hold me over until I can get the membership and finally get it shipped.

As someone who just tried to sign up for a Costco membership online and couldn’t get past the first page of registration, on multiple devices, Costco is kinda shit too, lol.
The rebel symbol from Star Wars has been heavily featured in the anti-ICE movement here in Minnesota, look up the rebel loon. Your suggestion is subtle enough that those who know will probably get it and those who don’t will probably just think OP is a nerd.

Sure, but they’ve also got a reputation for treating their employees okay by fast food standards. That would be the right move for BK to get friendlier employees, but sHaReHoLdErS!

Space shuttle launches. I’ve seen basically every one that’s happened in my lifetime since I grew up like 30 miles from Cape Canaveral, we’d watch the initial launch on TV then run outside to watch the shuttle rise over the trees in the yard. The solid rocket boosters glow and you could see them separate and fall back down.
The first time I drove out to the coast to watch as an adult my friend and I were sitting along the intracoastal and some dolphins came up to say hi while we were waiting.

Sometimes I wonder what the prevalent response to AI would be if we lived in a better world? There are environmental and resource concerns, but I think if they weren’t desperately trying to shove it everywhere to make a profit I’m not sure those would be unmanageable.
Information still wants to be free, but the way corporations are actually using AI right now in our economic hellscape punches people much lower in the (Maslow’s) hierarchy of needs.

The folks up at Whipple here in Minneapolis have been chucking dildoes at ICE and local law enforcement. Helps that one of the major spots for local resistance is a sex toy store, and they’ve got a lot of “expired” dildoes around.
(If you see reports of “objects” thrown at fascists, it’s not chunks of ice anymore, lol.)

Hank Green has a video on his channel where he ranks AI company logos based on how much they look like buttholes.
Butt it’s not just AI companies - I ordered something from Walmart last year and I was looking at the box in my recycling, thinking the snowflake pattern was kinda cool… then I thought about that Hank Green vid and realized that the Walmart star kinda looks like a butthole too.

Is Malta that unheard of? I’ve got a path to EU citizenship and I’m working on it. Maybe it’s just Minnesota in winter influencing me but Malta is one of the first places I want to check out to maybe move to. On paper they’ve got some of the best legal protections for trans people on the planet (although I’m aware it’s partly pinkwashing for political corruption). And their cycling infrastructure apparently isn’t great…

I do not feel adventurous when caustic substances are involved, and I am also not adventurous when it’s something I might end up on a list for searching. For the chickenshits, what’s draino do to aluminum foil?
Can’t, I’m in the bathroom producing an ai response.
