I’ve only gotten anywhere by getting promoted a lot, and I’m not entirely certain how I’ve managed that. The 3% annual merit increases aren’t doing anything for anyone.
3% annual raise isn’t a raise. When someone gets a 3% raise after a year they are literally making exactly what they started at if inflation is 3% annually.
Even less lately, given that inflation was averaging more than that for a few years. Unless you’ve gotten enough to catch up to those losses, you’re actually doing worse now that you were before covid.
You get 3 percent??
