This is one example of the many pathologies and abject failures of capitalism. Stephanie Pullman was not some random thing. She was a person. She mattered to people. People mattered to her. Nothing short of a shift towards anarcho-communism will really save both humanity and the beautiful planet we live on. Capitalism is parasitic, amoral, and greed driven. Why else do we see virtually no improvement in mental health medications and the cost for generics of 30+ year old ones priced to the point where one almost needs to make a choice between rent and food or stable mental health.
We need to do something. We are very few who are aware of this. People have become complacent with whatever happens and are taking it as “it is what it is”. I don’t want say zombies, but they kinda are :(
Absolutely. If I lose my job, I’d go homeless. I don’t have any savings. I live exactly paycheck to paycheck. I can’t even miss a day of work. It’s working as intended. It keeps us on our toes all the time. We don’t even have time to protest.
Suggestions for action? I’m in the education stage, but I’m having difficulty imagining beyond that. I’ve participated in protests and some similar activism, but haven’t seen much in the way of results.

Preach. Capitalism is ending life on this planet.
It’s a foregone conclusion!

It’s apathy. People are too concerned with being in survival mode versus living. This is again a feature of capitalism, not a bug.
