Alpha School, a billionaire-backed private school chain that replaces teachers with AI tutors and charges $40,000 a year in tuition, is opening campuses in Edmond and Tulsa in August. The model, which uses two hours of daily AI-driven instruction with no certified teachers, has drawn both enthusiastic families and sharp criticism from educators.
There are a sizable chunk of places where residents won’t pay $40K for a teacher per year for the entire class much less per student.
Spending that much to program their kids with some bullshit version of reality while minimizing their human connections and teaching them adults can’t be relied on. Sounds like a mass child abuse case that should happen here.
But when a child becomes a school shooter because they weren’t socialized properly, the robot teachers go into Terminator mode and protect the other students.
