    scratch that off the list.

    all they need for global tech supremacy now is semiconductors, right?

    i don’t recall them being behind on anything else.

      If they made their language easier to learn, I would. Right now, the idea of memorising a billion symbols doesn’t seem appealing at all.

        i tried with japanese, got to 200 symbols, then lost interest.

        iirc children are expected to know 1200 symbols by the age of 12.

          And there are thousands more. I thought it would be cool to learn it too, but finding out they 3 scripts made me give that up. I hope they’ll have a scriptural revolution and make a script to unite them all (and end up with 4 scripts 😅)

          Korean’s Hangul script seems more sane from what I remember. But the only reason I’d learn it is because of manhwas. I don’t have the impression that working or living in Korea is in any way pleasurable as a foreigner. And the country is dying too due to their low birthrates.
