Controversy-tarred congressional candidate Maureen Galindo this week pledged to transform a site south of San Antonio now used by the Trump administration to detain migrants into an internment camp for “American Zionists.”

“She’ll turn Karnes ICE Detention Center into a prison for American Zionists and former ICE officers for human trafficking,” Galindo wrote in an Instagram post over the weekend, referring to herself in the third person. “It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles, which will probably be most of the Zionists.”

Galindo maintained she only has an issue with zionists, or those advocating for the existence of a Jewish state in their ancestral homeland, rather than Jews in general.

“I think it’s actually the zionists who are putting Jewish people at the most risk,” Galindo told the Current last week.

Let me quickly replace the word “Zionist” with “Nazi” to check how it sounds

“Put all Nazis in internment camps”

Yeah man, that’s like one of the biggest problems with Nazis. We really just shouldn’t be putting anyone in internment camps. If you wanna fight Nazis, fight Nazis. Slavery is not really ever a reasonable response.

Stalin sent Nazis to the Gulags. The West kept Nazis in their political system. One of them still has a Nazi problem.

Now I agree that sending every single person who supports the existence of the Apartheid to an internment camp would be a bit impractical, but I don’t mind some prominent Zionists going to jail for a decade or two.

It’s not impractical, it’s barbaric. We have legal systems for a reason. The court systems may have issues, but that doesn’t mean the solution is rounding people up into slavery. Just because Stalin did it doesn’t make it right, that’s a stupid justification.
