Bitcoin is a pyramid scheme. I mined bitcoin in the early days when you could literally make 1 whole bitcoin in two weeks. The next two weeks I mined 0.3 bitcoins. That’s when I realized that it was a scam.

Saab will offer a really sweet deal including Canadian factories that can produce everything that Sweden makes for the Gripen. It will be on a short timeline and a good price. Canada will be locked in to help co-design the next generation of Swedish fighters.

Canada will use this as leverage against the USA. Then the USA will finally set their foot down and tell Canada in no uncertain terms that if they buy Gripen they’ll get locked out of various US weapons systems indefinitely and end up on the US’s shit list. But if they stop their ridiculous outburst they can get on the shortlist for some really cool destructive toys.

Canada will most likely cave and Gripen will have fulfilled its role as a bargaining chip. I wouldn’t even blame Canada, this is how it’s gone down almost every time in the past 30 years and Canada has much better reasons than most to keep on the US’s good side.

This somehow assumes that your fingerprint is going to vary, and be unique, every time you interact with a tracker. That’s basically not ever going to be the case for casual use.

There’s no way remote-controlled drones are going to be top-shelf items in the next generation. Even now, comm interference pretty much prohibits the use of remote-controlled drones in any scenario which involves actual armies rather than shepherds with AKs. That’s why Ukraine uses fiberoptic cables for their FPV drones. Beyond that, in a real war satellite constellations will go down real fast.

Isn’t it a bad thing to be unique in this context? If my browser is 1 in a million, that means that a tracker can pick me out of a lineup of a million users, no? That’s why a captcha can verify you as human simply by checking a box, because it can identify your unique browser as associated with human activity.

If I’m not mistaken, we want the opposite. We want our browsers to be as generic as possible if we don’t want to be tracked.

To be fair most Gripen crashes happened in the early days, as a result of purposefully pushing the plane and pilot to their limits. Flying low enough to scrape treetops, sudden high-G manouvers… they train like they’re in an actual war.

Windows 8/10 introduced touch features that lots of people really wanted, so if you care about tablets at all I think that it’s reasonable to say that Microsoft Surface is probably the best tablet out there. I personally don’t give a shit about tablets so I’m not too happy.

Every other Windows version is basically a test to see what sticks. They usually have huge ideas that push the boundaries of the current technology, and implement it as a prototype to gather data.

Incorporation of web frameworks into Explorer and the desktop, shift to ntfs/64bit, use of gpu acceleration, touch-enabled desktop, now incorporation of AI features. Many of these features also forced hardware vendors to adapt for Microsoft’s vision. So as annoying as it is, it’s probably a good strategy for them. We just need to treat every other Windows as a beta (or preferably switch to Linux).

This is not true. I’ve helped lots of people install Linux on their old laptops, they used them until the hardware stopped working and I rarely if ever got any questions or requests for help.

I have pretty strong judgements of lots of things that I think should be legal despite how I feel. I despise gambling, I hate cosmetic surgery, I’d never get a tattoo, I don’t even like perfume, glitter… you get the idea. I’m not saying that you’re a criminal for buying a lottery ticket, but I’m totally gonna judge you an immoral moron in my mind.

I can certainly understand the argument that prostitution should be legal in order to protect sex workers. I’m not sure if that’s the best policy, but I can see where it’s coming from.

I do not believe that sex workers are categorically bad people, neither do I believe that people who hire sex workers are beyond redemption. I still find it disgusting and I don’t think it should be normalized.

However, to clarify: in this case we’re talking about a powerful person seeking out a young girl to have sex with. He pays for sex. He does not in any way verify age. I think it’s safe to say that he doesn’t give a shit about the well-being of this person, and if it was legal to have sex with a younger girl he would have done that openly. No internal moral compass whatsoever, just the narcissistic playbook of how he’s perceived by others. His followers are only backtracking because he got caught.

I’m not an American so I’m not following FOX or any other American media that closely. But yes, I do remember him on FOX, and that he used a lot of extremely aggressive faces and language when talking about the liberals. I’m not sure if he’s actually changed his tactics, he just shifted targets.
